The world has ended. There is nowhere to go. Except back. Rememberer by Nadege Dumont & Carl Murphy More About Rememberer: In a war-ravaged world recognizable as the ruins of our own, a woman is haunted by memories of a better time. But she lives in an era that has chosen to forget its history, and remembering is a crime

Nice concept, but as many others have pointed out, some serious plot holes. Also, the narration didn't add anything to the story that couldn't have been handled with a little bit more in-scene plot exposition.
Instead of the narrator telling us that people found things but they didn't know what they were for, the characters could just be asking each other if they knew. the audience would get the idea that they didn't recognize the objects. With a little bit more reinforcement in the dialogue, the audience would realize that the people had memory issues.
The history at the beginning could have been handled in that way as well. That would have allowed more time for character and story development.

This is a metaphor for being born.
Before we are born we find no value in this world. We are satisfied to be an unthinking fetus, with no thoughts, living in a dark, desolate womb.
As we develop, innate ideas appear in our minds and we want to reject them. We want to destroy the door -- the birth canal -- so that we can remain in our comfort zone.
But one part of us intuitively knows there's a better world out there. Forbidden by the rest of our being (the emotional, afraid physical part of us, the courageous spirit in us seeks to enter the world, and welcomes a chance to elevate the unknown places and people we shall visit and meet.

If you do not have an actual story and just have an idea - either work it into an actual story with a plot and an ending and characters and ideas developed and a point, or if you aren’t able to do that, collaborate with someone who can, or don’t bother. These broken hints of a story that are undeveloped go nowhere, nothing explained or resolved films that think maybe music and the actors and some visuals will make it somehow work are irritating. Time is in fact valuable. And when people sacrifice free time and take a chance on a story it’s like being ripped off when it turns out it’s nit really a story. Just an idea propped up by a mess

A real study of history from original documents tells us that during the dark ages of 450 to 600 AD their was a lot of comets, meteors and earthquakes and plagues that reduced some populations by 80% which proves that the solar system is more unstable than previously thought. Take constantinopole now Istanbul for example between 500AD and 600 AD the city had major problems plague, famine etc. From 800 AD to today it has prospered as has most of the cities on Earth. That could change in the future due to solar system events as climate change is a red herring because the Sun and all the planets are changing. Anyway, good movie enjoyed it.

I always find it wierd why most modern science fictions depict a dystopian future. How about disease elimination Immortality Interstellar flight and unlimited resources But this is good too. It parallels greatly with how in real life, a lot of our history have been altered, revised and even erased entirely; and remembering it differently as how the books portray is criminal and immoral.

Hmmm To get to the city she climbed over the sand hill with the grass on it. At the end, I thought they would go over the sand hill again but they walked into the ocean, thinking it was a city Doesn't make sense. Was all just an illusion If it was, that was just a waste of time. What did I get wrong

7: 10 Burying a live hand grenade.
Comment: Consider digging the hole and detonating it in the hole after running to a safe distance behind a hill. A live hand grenade remains which might be found by others who might have an accident or misuse it.

Scenario: Post-Apocalyptic earth, very far in the future. The cities eventually vanished, and after a long time, even the memories of the cities were gone. Yet everyone wears store-bought clothing that looks like it was manufactured last week.

THIS is what happens when every single monument, statue and history of our country is torn down, destroyed; to every book that has been changed to adapt to the narrative of those who rule over us - to forever be removed from our memories.
reply

The problem is, if they have memory issues, than most would constantly forget there was a doorway there except for the one individual who doesn't forget. So the 'council' wouldn't have remembered sending them on a mission to begin with.

Some great scenes shot around my home town - Dublin! The description is wrong - this era hasn't chosen to forget its history; somehow they have lost the ability to remember. Really interesting concept. Well done short SF!
reply

The idea is fine but too many flaws in the production. Why did she not look back to see the doorway she had just fallen through What happened to the rope Would she really bury a live hand-grenade only six inches deep in sand
reply

I live on a Civil War battlefield in Tennessee and dig up relics with a metal detector. No one knows anything about it and there is very little written history. I always wonder what happened on October 2-5th, 1862!
reply

I thought, That's one long rope! Bit of a giant plot hole. She walked for hours in a city with people and cars (she knows what a car is but not a book, fan or teddy bear ) and no one stopped her
reply

So people wandered through this 'doorway', perhaps into a parallel world, where they have memory problems but, they are convinced for some reason there is an enemy
reply

This is resonant in 2018, when segments of our population are prepared to go back and forget what benefits science and tech have given us.
reply

Very interesting idea. Yes, the rope thing is a bit hilarious but as for the rest, seems like the seed of a very interesting story.
reply

Maybe its the human mad cow disease. you know when they were feeding the ground up cows to other cows. remember
reply

You would think they soon would realize there was nothing to worry about then come back for the rest.

Start of a great series. Them coming up out of a cavern may be a leaf from the hollow earth theory.
reply

Looks like a trailer for something longer. Even that was short and simple story, i got hooked in: )
reply

Yeah, can't do it, right from the first gasp. Sorry, thanks for the effort. Keep it up.
reply

Simple concept no/low budget good acting - 1000 000 000 % better than the current Dr Who!

Great premise. not unlike 60s scifi.

My ending
The lady should have turned back and traveled through the time tunnel.

reply

You guys should do a full length movie. I would pay to see it. Amazing work my friends.
reply

Dust, you are amazing! STRANGE sometimes. . But yet interesting. .
reply

The walker is very well-mannered man! He always makes way for a lady!
reply

Just mind candy, no substance. I give it a thumbs up for creativity.
reply

This one would do just fine on its own without any narration.
reply

I think I will walk around the town with a rope tied to me. Think not!
reply

In light of what's going on June 2020 this story is prophetic.
