Is the Ellen Show willing to acknowledge racism on its program?
I remember an interview with a Kenyan student who had won I think it was money and the opportunity to be a guest on the Ellen show a few years ago.
I'm sorry but I don't remember the man's name but I do remember that when he was talking about his experiences of racism Ellen acknowledged his difficult experience but was not willing to name it as racism and moved the conversation towards a different topic.
I appreciate people are at different levels of understanding about racism and anti-racism but this seemed to be a lost opportunity to acknowledge this man's experience of racism which normally would be swept under the carpet or dismissed.
It Is great to see the Ellen show using its platform to provide opportunities for learning and growth. Hopefully you will continue to do this and help educate white people to see what part we play in the perpetuation of personal and systemic racism intentionally or unintentionally towards people of colour around the world.

Ellen, you have a platform and can make a sterling contribution. Invite the leaders who are responsible for change as a guest on your show: the governors, mayors, CEO of various companies and politicians. Let's get a commitment from them to change the evil draconian police brutality laws, change the education system ensuring all students are treated equally and given the same opportunity, changes to the silent hiring policies of companies where a higher salary is offered to a white employee compared to a black employee for doing the same job.

So said that many such as you have basically ignored the lives of fellow humans and yet found the time and might i say energy to focus on many other issues based on what interest you have. I get it from Ellen it is so easy to talk about just about every thing but racist issues it makes ppl feel very uncomfortable and for ppl in relationships of other races find themselves caught between a rock and a hard place not knowing where they stand not wanting to upset the wrong group of ppl and that is something they will not admit but I love Ellen from what I see of her on tv

Just wanted to say thank you to the three of you for helping to ease the difficult conversations along, in helping me to figure out how to overcome my fear of speaking about race relations.
