I get the inpression this is only aimed at console games. 1998 saw HalfLife revolutionize PC games. It won all the game of the year awards and until half life 2 was released was named best game of all time in numerous gaming magazines. So not sure why zelda is above it. I owned both and zelda was good, but not even close to HalfLife.

t scares me that starting from 2008 in the category of the game of the year, the genre of game does not change to this day. Have people degraded or have games been simplified for children?

How did you compile this list of GOTY winners? Not saying it's wrong, just curious as there is no definitive list, especially not for any of the earlier 80's and 90's games.

Lmao, I love GOTY for everyone changes depending on if they liked the game or not; because 2012's GOTY was Dishonored, but I've seen Far Cry 3 and now TWD in it's spot.

Doom and GTA were the most influential games in history. having played since the Intellivision days, I don't remember any other games that were that engaging.
