Fun Fact #2- The Milton Bradley Microvision was the very first handheld console with interchangeable cartridges. It released in November 1979 for $49. 99. The Microvision stayed in the video game market until 1981 making around 15 million dollars for Million Bradley in the process. Unfortunately, the screen was too small and the game library was even smaller.
Fun Fact #3- The Atari Jaguar was waaaaaay more powerful than a Sega Genesis and Snes combination. It was designed next to the 32-bit Panther. When Atari realized the Jaguar was furnished along they dropped the Panther. The Jaguars port of Doom was the best console version for a long time.
Fun Fact #4: Alien Vs. Predator sold 300, 000 copies. Unless people bought 2 copies per Jaguar sold your sales numbers arent quite right. I had a Jaguar along with a Sega Genesis/Sega CD and Snes by 1994. I loved my Jaguar for Wolfenstein 3D, Doom, AVP, Super Burnout, NBA Jams Tournament Edition, and Iron Soldier too name a few. None of these experiences could be had like the Jaguar ran minus the PC but even still. there were a couple of games from then even they didnt top.\r\n

I'm 51 and had a 2600 as a kid. So much fun. But nowadays I have a Wintendo full of AAA games. When the news broke about a new 2600 from Atari that would play original cartridges, I almost succumbed to nostalgia. But then another video popped up in my feed, essentially a list of all of the original Atari 2600 games. That's when I remembered the VAST majority of those games were crap, and even the -good ones- just don't hold the same magic, any more. If I bought one, it would just be another piece of clutter and I hate clutter.

Fun fact Atari is now releasing a new 2600+ Arcade console based on the classic 2600 its about 80% of its size and whats awesome is that they are selling new Cartridges with it! Its also 2600 and 7800 Cartridge compatable as well! Whats the coolest is that their new Cartridges also have small switches on them to allow you to switch your games so you can play multiple games on a single Cartridge simply by switching the switches is such an awesome cool retro idea on the Cartridges! The new 2600+ console is 129. 99$

Atari Jaguar, may have the most horrific controller record in the history of home video games.
Atari made the mistake of resting on its laurels,
and these -nostalgia- operations of his leave the time they find.
Ok Nintendo has also created replicas of its old consoles. But they were just little jewels scattered here and there, around the flagship consoles.
I'm sorry, I'd like to see a valid competitor in the console challenge (which has been limited to Nintendo Sony Microsoft for many years)

The first time I knew the existing of Atari it was in the early 1980's in my uncle's house when i saw my cousin playing and i still remember the game that he was playing but i dont remember the name, it was a car that have a gun on its roof shooting and jumping i play it with him and from this moment i got attached to this console but my parents didn't buy it for me until the release of Sega mega drive and my parents didnt buy me this console i envied everyone who had it

HOW EVER, the true video game cartridge that nobody ever talks about is called the Fairchild f video game system, that is the true video game and the first video game that included cartridges before, Atari ever became a success, sick and tired of Atari being first and nobody ever talks about the fair child.
So that's history. And yes we know that the Fairchild wasn't AS GOOD as Atari but was THE FIRST system to include a video game cartridge. l
Gawd.

5: 34 The caption says Combat was released in 1983, it actually was released in 1977. Also the caption at 5: 40 says Pac-Man was released in 1980 that would be true of the arcade version but the Atari 2600 version which is what is being shown wasn't released until 1982.

The Lynx could have been awesome. Maybe it was just a bit too ambitious for the technology of the day. The Game Boy was originally going to be color but they made a decision to go monochrome because of battery life. Guess that decision turned out to be prudent

Atari: Pong?
God: No thanks. I have Nintendo Switch from another universe (and played a lot of Minecraft V1. 20 and Super Mario Maker 2. Since Nintendo before to 3DS and WiiU had no idea how to make the Switch in this universe, it'll be >SG$1500.

10: 00 similar thing happened to Nintendo later on. Sony wanted to get into the videogame industry and proposed to partner up with Nintendo to make a disc-based console. Nintendo refused and Sony went on to make the Playstation.

The 7800 was supposed to compete with the NES but it still seemed primitive compared to that machine, especially the audio. It seems like after the 2600, they were just always a day late and a buck short with all their future offerings

I didn't know about the Flashbacks series
I thought before Atari VCS Atari didn't make any consoles since Atari Jaguar
Also i am surprised how Atari Jaguar sold EVEN LESS than the Virtual Boy

Ironically, Atari might have lived had they focused on the UK/Euro market rather than US with Jag. They spread too thin, didn't have enough cash flow, and couldn't keep up.

The Lynx was way ahead of it's time and so much better than gameboy. I still have mine and still enjoy playing it. Todd's Adventures in Slime World is my favorite.

8: 37 I suspect that this clip is showing the 2600 version of Ms. Pac-Man because the 5200 version of Ms. Pac-Man looks different and much better than that.

So was the lynx or the gameboy first? I dint understand you -- -lynx, the first handheld console. Gameboy came months earlier-
And other chaotic things -

The PlayStation and Xbox still use that type of pricing today, so they lose money on the units I hate to see what the price would be if they made money.

When you-ve already failed on your thumbnail, the video doesn-t have much hope. When you get the first part wrong I can-t be bothered to watch.

Kinda glad atari went under seems like they just stole other companies ideas. Which is common but they were kinda blatant and smug about it lol

5: 35 combat(1977) was a home version of the arcade tank(1975) and was not released in 1983. please make better research next time

Super Mario Bros was not released in 1983 along side the famicom, it was 2 years later in 1985, get a better fact checker.

That bad joystick the 5200 came with is why the market crashed, omg what the hell where those designers thinking of? wow.

6: 31 I can confirm this, I witnessed it, and always made me laugh when someone used to refer to Genesis or PS1 as Atari.
reply

Bro I have a PS5 and Atari 2600 and I can tell you this.
It-s not about the graphics, it-s about the gameplay.
