10 crazy video game easter eggs that turned out to be fake

there was a rumour about the unreachable island tower in the Midnight Mountain homeworld of Spyro 3: Year Of The Dragon and the mysterious cricket sound that's only heard at the rocket garage in the same homeworld where if you find the cricket, flame it, Sparx eats its butterfly, you get a superflame powerup to shoot the tower to a low enough level to get to it, that is simply false, I've searched for that cricket before I heard the rumour, no cricket anywhere, and I found out from one of the game's developers that the unreachable island tower is a leftover from development, it was a last minute change, it used to have the egg that the homeworld's thief has, it also used to have the Super Bonus Round portal, and 3 extra lives, and the hole in the Sorceress' castle's ceiling used to have a very tall skinny whirlwind that would take you to the tower, it was a 2 to 3 minute flight, it was awesome, but this developer that mentioned it also in the last few days of development took a last minute vacation and they changed it on him while he was gone, moved the portal closer, changed the way you get the egg, deactivated the whirlwind, and they just left the 3 extra lives on the tower and left the tower, they didn't move it out of sight, they didn't delete it, they just left it there, using hacks you can reactivate the whirlwind

You should do a video about easter eggs that ARE real, but cannot be unlocked by standard means, and only unlocked via cheat codes or altering the game's memory. One semi-notable version is in Tales of the Abyss (PS2) where you can get the -Swordians- from Tales of Destiny as weapons for every playable character. Because Tales of the Abyss was meant to be an anniversary to the Tales series, they included the ability to get the swordian weapons from Tales of Destiny in the Japanese version. However, because the game wasn't intended to be an anniversary title in the west, the code for it was not completed for the ability to get the weapons in the western version.
That doesn't mean that the swordians aren't in the PS2 version's game code. (In fact, they have English names even) You can hack them in with cheat codes or memory editing, and due to the fact that their code was never finished, having them equipped to certain characters (IE: Tear, who normally has a staff weapon) makes them hold a sword like... well, not a sword.

yeah, they played with the mythical Ermac by making him a random boss and the announcer would say -Ermac who?- and then they had him as a character in the second Mortal Kombat movie Mortal Kombat Annihilation, he wasn't an easter egg there, he was one of the main villains, then in Ultimate Mortal Kombat III he became an unlockable playable character

actually, during Super Mario 64's development, Luigi was gonna be the second player for to play 2 player but there was a problem and either they had to fix the frames per second by lowering the graphics quality or they had to scrap Luigi entirely and they sadly scrapped Luigi

When i was growing up i hear that if you beat cruzin USA with each vehicle in each color you would get to play as a helicopter. do you have any idea how hard it was to beat that game as the red school bus....

Tomb Raider DID have a nude code, the code was nude, only worked for pc though.... I know this because I used it everytime I played it, because it was funny (I was too young to have turnons)
