Why was the xbox 360 a big deal?

1. No clunky menus like modern day consoles (PS4)-
2. A media player that could play any device to stream series and movies before netflix-
3. Xbox Live- Instantly joining parties, lobbies and just smooth 365 days a year. Incredible. (PS4 inviting a friend can take 5 mins borefest)-
4. This disc tray- I loved its sound coming out and inserting your new game at the time fifa 15, modern warfare 2 etc..-
5. Exclusives - Halos, Forza 1,2 and the horizons all of these changed gaming landscapes for their genre-
6. The joypads - I smacked them off walls in frustration mainly due to fifa yet they continued to work for many years-
7. RGH -LT2-lt3.0- I had a modded xbox in 2015 and download any new release instantly saving me cash.

During this time you could just pull up Craigslist and sooo many people were -fixing- these for people at your own risk lol. Still, this console was up there with PS2 imo. The way it integrated all your music WITH the games, the lineup of games, the way they seemingly started the online interface and media purchases, just a classic device. I've sold all my old consoles except this one.

By the end of 7th gen cycle, devs got the hang of making games for PS3 and by then most games looked identical to the XBOX 360 version, e.g. GTA V, ran the same and had the same resolution. That doesn't really change that most PS3 games were blurrier.

Still have mine and all my games. Brilliant system. It truly felt like a successor to sega with all of its love in the xbla towards sega games. There were so many sega games on the 360, more than any non-sega console ever

Still play constant on my Xbox likes in still the new gen it really was the first modern as most youth think of consoles if I-m not mistaken with it being released before the ps3

Coz you can play game offline without updating, also most of people don't have good internet connection worldwide. And Xbox 360 had gears of War, Halo, and also controller is awesome

this is my favorite console of all time, I think it still holds up after all this time. Not necessarily in graphics or hardware but overall in terms of enjoyment it-s still fun

I thought the 360 would have like 2gigs ram on all consoles but 512megabytes? Good lord these 360's can play halo 4 and that game looks amazing on the 360 side of standards.

Xbox 360 had everything. Avatar, Microsoft store, exclusives, way ahead of its time.
BO2, Halo Reach, Minecraft, Indie Games, everything was golden.

Still play Skyrim on my 360 S. It used to get dangerously hot when horizontal so I keep it upright. I guess it pays a price to be a compact console
