I had the chance to go to E3 2017, and man did I have a lot of fun. Having said that, while I think E3 should be on every gamer's bucket list, I have to say I had a much better experience when I went to PAX East a couple years prior.
Right now, E3 still feels like a press event, not a fan event. E3 has shorter convention hours compared to PAX, and I felt like it was to give media time to write up impressions and put out their own content based on everything they saw. Also, the shorter hours meant unless you showed up RIGHT when the main hall opened, you had no chance of even checking out various demos.
PAX feels like much more of a fan event, because there's always something geared towards the fans to do. You just feel like hanging out and playing board games between speakers? We've got a spot for that. We've got this section for handheld gamers to get there street passes, and this room filled with retro games to play.
Bottom line: I'm glad I went to E3, and I'll definitely go again, but if I had to recommend a single convention for my gamer friends, it would still be PAX.

E3 will kill itself by trying to cater to the average person. as someone whos been at several E3's over the past years I can tell you having lines capped within 4 minutes of doors opening to general public and the wait when you go from the first experience line to the next and get told -its capped- every day I think they should keep it capped at 5000 tickets to public like they did in 2017 unlike the 15000 this year.
Turning E3 into -another big convention- also made security a nightmare and random bag issues all the time (when buying merch from some places in one area made it difficult to get into the next area if you were allowed at all) not able to really carry in anything in a bag even my switch was a pain to get in the doors in its carry bag due to ridiculous size limitations. Cosplay rules I understand but also they were pretty oppressive... its just like watching a friend die a slow death... I see this being the SDCC of video gaming soon and thats not a good sign for attendees

E3 is alright but as a PC gamer there isn't much there for me. Most of the games I play have their own conventions so I just watch E3 to see what may get ported later. Microsoft is starting to open up a bit more which is nice but blizzcon, citizencon, quakecon, eve fanfest and all that are much cooler in my opinion.
Still fun to watch the trailers though

i'm from England, and go euro gamer every year! gaming conventions are brilliant the tickets are reasonably priced and offer a great chance to get hands on with the next year of gaming. i couldn't agree more with Jake. :)

I think this year was not that exciting due to the fact that most titles were announced last year. Until another console comes out there wont be much excitement until then.

Please do a video on Sleeping Dogs and why it's not talked about more often- it's a freaking good game but it's been under the radar and died somehow...

It wasn't hot I saw air conditioning on the outside and everything was overpriced but it was pretty damn fun and plenty to do around that area

WORSE, mobile Shit is now on the main stages and TAKES too much time. If am going, am 100% going to Devolver Digital. No BS.
