Tomb of the giants is probably my least liked place to the point of not wanting to go there so if it's upcoming i might just lose interest in going on with my current character.
Like I want to atleast see what I'm doing and where I'm going, pretty much any other -difficult- aspect is preferred in my opinion.
I'm pretty sure that there is a certain helmet related to a certain character that makes it bearable but yeah from what I can remember you have to do alot of very specific things, at the right time/order too or you'll miss it, to trigger the necessary story events which might not feel worth it especially if it's not your first time.
Oh yeah I think the story event plays out in one of those zones near the end that were hastily slapped togheter on a empty budget, so you don't get the helpful helmet until much later if you put off tomb of the giants til then.
That is if you even feel motivated to go on when you've done everything cool in the game already and just have the last terrible unfinished parts and the terrible zone where you can't see left.
I've honestly never cared to finish Dark Souls from that point myself, i probably would've if I first played it when released but since 2 and 3 were already out I'd rather play those than force myself to finish up the bad parts of the first game.

for number 5 you can get the sunlight maggot head and it will make it slighly easier its a slight chore to get since you have to go to the hell thats lost izalith to get it

i did Sea of Storms last in my Demons Souls PS5 playthrough, and boy is that a different, far more neutered beast than if you do it at any other time. lol

I loved the dreg heap. I thought it was a lot of fun, except the last angel. The Demon Prince is a garbage boss fight though. Too much health.

7:45 The Sunlight Maggot helps in lighting the way. Its also way more useful than the lantern as it's equipped as a headpiece.
