Have to admit I was a bit surprised at the drastic change to the Tin Woodman's creation story. While the original story is a bit grisly, I wasn't expecting such a huge truncation. You may want to add a note that this is not the original book being read, but a Rated G retelling. Otherwise this certainly did the trick and I fell fast asleep!

This certainly does it’s job effectively. I discovered it several days ago, and after enjoying the wonderful descriptions of Kansas and how gray Dorothys world is, I lose consciousness and wake up an hour into the book, have a missed so much. Night after night I try to stay awake long enough to hear more details and never manage it.

Absolutely enjoyed this, made most of my driving day fly by. Ive neve read the books but i am going to devour this series. Based off what we know solely from book one, i am convinced Oz used hia ventriloquism to deliberately lure Todo away jist long enough for him to make his escape seem like an accident. Please, no spoilers!

It’s about 3: 45 in the morning. Can’t sleep, got insomnia, got anxiety, got minor (visual and tactile) hallucinations, etc. I’m going to try this and hope for the best, hope I can actually sleep. I enjoy children’s stories, so hopefully this will work well.

It’s interesting to see how comparatively small of a role the wicked witch of the west plays in this. The movie adaptation that everyone and their grandma’s seen conditioned me to think she was gonna be an overarching force in the plot

Shame no one at MGM realised the soporific effects of reading the script of The Wizard of Oz’ back in the 1930s because if they had’ve done they could have just read it to Judy Garland instead of giving her all them barbiturates.

it took me almost 4 months of listening to this every night to get through the reading! every night i would pick up where i fell asleep the previous night. and finally finished it! what a strange and interesting story lol

But the tin woodman chopped himself off piece by piece with his cursed ax and the tinsmith replaced his bits until he was all tin - that's when he could no longer love her. He also chopped the head off the wildcat.

I have to listen to something every night or I don't sleep, been that way since I was a kid.
I must say this is the greatest ever
that I can remember anyway.
Thank you

I am a huge fan of books AND movies. Unfortunately I do prefer the movie version of Wizard of Oz. BUT, this narrator is aweeeeeesome! Great, soft, gentle steady reading. Love it!
reply

Isn't it annoying when people say tHoMaS tEaM like bro sthu you don't know how other people feel when you say that plus both of them are good and gn yall i love this storytime!

I absolutely love this movie, I used to have the doll and the dog. Once my grandmother introduced this to me I never stopped watching it. And now listening to this is just amazing!
reply

I can not believe how wonderful the book is. It's been a goal to read the book. And as always the book is so much better than the movie.
Thank you for the upload.

The accent is British with here and there some American pronunciations I wonder from which country you are. Bottomline is, I love listening to your reading.

I wish she wouldn't make her voice so evil sounding when reading the wicked witch part. It scared the crap out of me waking up from a dead sleep. Lol
reply

I must say I loved this. I usually only like male voices to narrate stories. I even prefer male singers for some reason but you are the exception. Ty
reply

I have terrible insomnia and anxiety. These stories keep my head occupied while I try and rest. Thank you so very much.
reply

This narrators voice is amazing. Calm and soothing. I was mesmerized and slept for 3 whole hours and woke refreshed. Thanks!
reply

This is the best bed-time reading voice! Amazing how it has a low tone soothing voice WITH another layer of high tone whisper.
reply

Your voice is perfect. It helps me settle and go into a beautiful sleep. Just beautiful. Thank you so much xxx
reply

I now know how and why people say that they are able to relax and rest finally. You’re goddamn boring.
reply

Any less inflection and modulation, she might as well have been reading the periodic table of the elements.
reply

it's not as much calming as it is just plain creepy
you sound like someone upped your lithium prescription
