Woo! You finally got a Nokton! (I got an alright deal on a used one, and it still cost quite a bit more than my old camera. And also my new camera. But I love it)
But what are your (the collective your) thoughts on the new lens on the block, the Noktor SLR Magic T0. 95? It looks like their lenses are better adapted for video, but their optical quality isn't as good as Voigtlander. Also they are somewhat less expensive, so there's that.

f0. 95 is a larger aperture than f4. Its been proven many times over that a lower quality camera with a high quality lens will produce better results than a top dollar camera with a cheap lens. This voigtlander costs more than most peoples cameras, is incredibly fast, and with a f0. 95 aperature, there is no noise in low light. The last thing I would call it is shitty.

I worked with them a bit while out here, yeah. Their studio was available for our use, though the other group used it more often. Very cool and nice people! The lens is $1000 new, but I got it used for $700. And I sold about $680 worth of equipment to get it! Definitely worth it, I never end up taking it off anymore.

Depth of field is equal to Focal Length, Distance from subject and Aperture. In this case the sensor size matters too, it's a micro four thirds camera with a smaller sensor I believe. In a mix with a small sensor and a wider focal length the Depth of field is rather large.

I have this lens - I've been filming stuff I can barely even see at night, its amazing. Its also great during the day - I'm forcing myself to use it exclusively for the next couple weeks to get a better feel for it.

So when is the Kickstarter beginning for the Kobya documentary? ;) Seriously though, I'd pay to see that doc get made. He seemed like a really interesting and talented guy. Footage looks great!

If I could I'd get both, but the deciding factor for me, and the reason I found out about it at all, was that the 25mm was used for the movie Upstream Color and I loved how that looked.

I'm guessing the voightlander doesn't have image stabilization: . I love Seoul though. go out and get yourself some Kalbi, Pibimbab, and the like. Korean food is the best.

Street musician is a wonderful job that allows you to travel and do what you love. It's very honourable too and no one should be ashamed of playing in the streets.

I had seen those before and did a lot of searching for image comparison and in the end I went for what I thought was better quality. But it's still a great lens!

I really wish I'd had something to stabilize with, yeah, but had I been able to do some things in post if I was at home I think I could have helped it a bit.

Yes, a crop sensor used with a 30mm lens is like using a 50mm lens with a full sensor. Basically, the crop sensor zooms in a bit using less lens area.

Went between ISO 400, 640, and 800 depending on the situation. Also had to change the f-stop up to about an f2 in some situations. No stabilization though!

Also, he uses a 2. 3x crop factor sensor in comparison to the 1. 5/1. 6x of Nikon and Canon's crop sensor. Then of course there is the 1x full frames

Yeah man, check out Upstream Color sometime. It's not for everyone as a film but it looks great and was shot using this lens/camera combination.

the lens looks amazing, but the lack of stabilization is felt.
in movies i'm sure it would look stunning, when used with some kind of rig

I'm petty sure its actually like an f1. 9 lens on full frame. Stops go 1. 0, 1. 4, 2. 0, 2. 8, 4. 0, 5. 6, 8. 0, 11. 0, etc
