Bernie was the man for the moment. As much as any other contributing factor in 2016, the DNC helped put Trump in office with everything they did to lift Clinton up. The consolation is that Bernie is virtually singlehandedly responsible for the progressive makeover of the Democratic Party today and that he has already inspired and influenced the next generation and the next truly great American president--whoever that will be.
