I always see comments in videos like this saying how cost ineffective it would be to change to the metric system. It's easy.
Instead of having only ounces, pounds, inches and feet written on labels, simply add the rough equivalent in litres or mililitres (aka thousandths of a litre, grammars or kilograms (aka thousands grammars) and meters, centimeters (aka houndreds of a meter) or milimeters (aka thousandths of a meter) and most importantly Celsius. Same with speed etc.
You don't have to change everything in one go. Let everyone get familiar with it by simply including it in their daily life.
Eventually they will get used to seeing it everywhere and whenever a transition happens, the products will already include both systems until a few tens of years pass and the newer generations, that are seeing this from the beginning of their life, are already very familiar with it and are ready for the change.

Ms. Blanchett. Americans _do_ use the metric system for many things: soda, liquor, film widths, focal lengths, the caliber of many guns, pills, many tools, engine displacement, electricity, bottled water (except for gallon jugs, and more. Ms. Blanchett, why don't you switch from the QWERTY keyboard to the clearly superior Dvorak keyboard? That's why Americans are slow to adopt the metric system for everything.

Cate: The rest of us kind of have to speak your language! . Well. literally any other non-English speaking country kind of have to speak YOUR language in terms of communicating. Not just inches and gallons. which by the way is total nonsense! Metric system almost feels like it is designed to work. instead of whatever you call your system back in the US!

Metric is a beautiful system. Its not just decimalisation of the each unit of measure its the decimalization of the relationship between units.
Volume and mass being the most convenient in everyday life. A litre of water is a 1kg. So if you know the density ratio (liquids don't vary much away from 1) you can do the conversion in your head

The metric system is very intuitive, in the same way the decimal system is intuitive. If you divide a unit in 10 equal parts, things become much easier, probably because we have 10 fingers, so that becomes the standard in our calculations from a very young age. A foot has 12 inches. It makes no sense, why would you do that?

Metric also translates between units.
1ml of water weighs exactly 1 gram and fills a volume of exactly 1cc.
This is why engines are measured in cc but are referred to as 3 litre engine. Because a 3000cc is the same volume as 3000ml which = 3 litres

A nation invades other countries to instal their democracy (which obviously is extremly difficult and sometimes impossible) is not willing to change from imperial to metric. Exactly my type of humour.
