I think he was a better Rhodes than Howard, but for a very specific reason: military bearing. If it was Sergeant Major Rhodes Howard would have nailed it. But Colonel Rhodes is an officer. And officers generally don't do military bearing half as well.

I think Don Cheadle's Rhodey had better performance than Terrence Howard did. Howard had the charisma, but Cheadle had a witty and great gimmick to Rhodey. He is funny and more stylish tbh.
