Are the US and their inhabitants as strange as they appear to be?
I'm watching US media since millions of Americans had chosen this reality-TV guy Donald Trump to lead their country.
And I'm stunned about nearly everybody I've seen:
From college students being the future elites of the US,
over allegedly well-educated politicians, judges and so on in the highest offices
to the working-class people
they all don't seem to belong to the brightest I've seen so far. to express it politely!
What's going on in the US?
This question is addressed to Europeans knowing the US very well
or Americans who have been often to Europe and have European friends making them able to see the European perspective to everything happening in the US.
Americans seem to think that all that stuff is normal.

I would simply say, I don't know or I didn't see it, therefore I feel that I'm not qualified to comment. A lot of people are afraid of being looked at as uninformed especially when on camera.
