Bob Odenkirk & Rhea Seehorn on the Better Call Saul Finale

Bob Odenkirk & Rhea Seehorn on the Better Call Saul Finale

FBTwitterReddit

video description

Rating: 4.0; Vote: 1
Bob and Rhea talk about the finale of Better Call Saul, the train scene from the penultimate episode, Rhea s two Emmy nominations, and working with Carol Burnett. Batman: The magic of Rhea Seehorn's performance isn't in the big, showy, actor moments so much as the understated, natural, silently powerful approach she takes to playing Kim. It doesn't feel like a performance, it feels like watching a real person. She's just masterful at the wordless acting and subtle micro-expressions that elevate the character and material beyond what's in the script. It's time the Emmys recognize that sort of performance rather than just reduce an actor's work to the loudest, flashiest moments. It's one thing to deliver a big, emotional monologue, but it's something else entirely to disappear into a role as completely as she does.

Probably was not intended but I laught way too hard at that bus crying scene. It felt funny that she started to cry uncontrollably in the public, when she easily could have waited until she was home. I mean few tears maybe would have been more believable and fit her though character better. I just don't believe Kim couldnt control her in the public. Also after all it didnt feel very tragic after all, also because Jimmy and Kim arent particulary likable characters (by intend I guess. Kim a little more than Jimmy but still.
P. S.: I still adore the acting qualities of both.

I wonder how many takes they needed for the crying scene on the bus. Because that can't be something an actor can do six or seven times in one work day. And the scene is continuous, no cuts or different angles, no hiding her face in her hands. Impressive!
I never thought I would ever see a time when television (mainly) actors put everything that's in cinemas at the same time to shame. I hope she gets her Emmy for BCS - or even both she's nominated for! Patricia Arquette already has two, maybe she won't mind? I like them both!

Rhea deserves an Emmy for that scene alone. She was amazing. The finale was great, but honestly, I think the show went a season (or two) too long. For me personally, it was always a good show, but it didn't get Breaking Bad level till the last 2 seasons. In fact, once Lalo showed up is when it got great. I also thought his death was underwhelming and too early in the final season. Still a great show, but NOT better than BB. Just my thoughts.

You know, all these seasons i felt like they wrote her character just for that moment on the bus. She always looked like she was lost and alot of stuff locked up inside. Maybe that was their intention just to create that meltdown.
Great writing around her character this season. Her background as a confused kid used as a part of her mom's scams.

I just noticed, Saul Gone is actually supposed to mean It's all gone, kinda like how Saul Goodman is actually It's all good man. So maybe by gone, it's referring to the money and dreams he had. Or, it could be referring to all the guilt he carried. Or what I like to believe, Saul Goodman is gone, and all that's left is Jimmy.

Hah. I also wept. and I'm a man born in 1962 who does not cry.
Honestly if I had read even a correct guess at the ending I would have already processed it. to come up with an unexpected ending that does not seem contrived is such a testament to the quality of writing. The tears weirdly came as Saul handed over the cigarette.

So jimmy and kimmy is on jimmy kimmel show
There is some sadness on Bob's eyes knowing that the show ended. Imagine working for 14 years with the same people. New Mexico is their workplace and then everything is gone. Most of us will be lucky to be in a workplace for 10 years.

I'm so glad he brought the crying scene up. I was amazed by that peak performance too! This is probably the best crying in a movie/show I've ever seen. The only one that comes to mind as similarly brillant is Anne Hathaway's song in Les Miserables.

Rhea did a beautiful job of articulating her approach to that bus scene. I didn't expect to see such a sophisticated, elegant breakdown of the acting process on Jimmy Kimmel (or any late-night talk show for that matter, but this was fabulous.

I heart Rhea, soo talented & a classy natural beauty. While watching ep 12 & the scene where Kim breaks down sobbing on the airport shuttle, ( 2: 08 )
I thought, Man she better get nominated for an Emmy. well lookee-loo, She did it!

Rhea Seehorn brought me to tears with that one scene. I ll never forget it. It was amazing and if you ve ever felt grief and despair like that I don t know how it couldn t move you. Hope she wins every award possible

I just didn't at all buy the notion of Jimmy/Saul suddenly growing a conscience and essentially putting himself in prison for 86 years. The redemptive ending was forced, character would have never done that.
