Triggered memories of Altar Boy duty. Old enough to have served Mass when it was regularly done in Latin too. First mass was every day at 6: 30am in the basement chapel. Some like my mom-mom went to the 30 minute early mass very day. Pop-Pop dropped her off and like a good Irishman and went to his friends local bar to sweep up and wipe down for free early beers and cigs before it opened for the day then picked her up at 7am. Sunday high Latin mass was longest and started at 11: am as I recall. It was the worst service to get in the assignment rotation, you had to be on top of your service game, especially when the Monsie was conducting. I was serving the high mass one hot summer day, all the doors/widows were open, not good enough, I passed out and went down. The Monsie stopped dragged me into the knave and went right back and finished the mass.

I laughed aloud when he talked about being so far out of his element while making the movie, as a dyed in the wool native New Yorker. I almost fell out laughing when he related the story about telling his friend he was in the forest and his friend replied, Forest, Marty? Is there more than one tree?
Without doubt, this man is one of the most relatable individuals in the film industry. He's a lively raconteur of fascinating tales of a life spent in and around a cutthroat business. Yet he remains an unassuming leader in the industry, respected by his director peers, actors, and the public.
One day I hope to attend the Tribeca Film Festival to see, hear, and perhaps learn from these cinematic lions in their den.

I have taken a major break from any movies that are about First Nation people, that have white folks as so-called saviors.
Just like I'm not watching movies that have White Folks being the Last Samurai.
If he wants to do a movie about the First Nation folks, based on a true story he can start with how they lost their land in the first place. He can call it LANDBACK

At age 80 Scorsese may have made his best movie which is crazy. This is why I don't want Tarantino to retire, look at the great films that Scorsese, Ridley Scott and Spielberg are all still doing.

Incredible to hear a colorful description of how his artwork is created w/ music inclusion. Also, how he refers to Natives as First Nation, as many do not wish to be associated w/ the title American.

There's something about these late-night interviews that is so artificial, so heavily scripted that it takes you out of the spontaneity of the guests. This should be so good as a podcast interview.
