My least favorite part is that all the singers- voices sound the same. I had fun with my first one, but then I had my magician go to the talent show and heard that a Sim with a totally different speaking voice sounded exactly the same. I forgot about that for about 2 years and tried to make an Amy Winehouse-esque singer, which did not work. It would have been great if the singing were a bit more layered, or if you could at least pick a genre to specialize in. Showtime was really the only disappointing pack for me; it-s still better than any of the Sims 4.

And this was when I started losing steam for sims 3. I didn't understand why we needed social interactions and just didn't want to be bothered, so I didn't buy it. And after seeing the next stuff pack and an argument with a sim guru (or not, I think it was actually someone from EA, who encouraged a bunch of players to also -attack- me. My sims life was over. Until, sims 4 came out, I got nostalgic and started playing sims 2 and 3. I'm seeing that I didn't miss much because I never went back and purchased Showtime or any later sim packs.

If I get Showtime, i'll probably get the normal edition rather then Katy Perry since I have never heard her songs and I really have no intention on listening to them (No offense to people who like her songs, i'm sure they are good I just don't plan on ever listening to them) but before I do that I still need to find where my copy of fast lane stuff went since as of writing this comment i'm re-installing Sims 3.

This pack. looks like crap. I'm sorry but I'm not connecting fb for the main features of this crap shoot to sing to non existant sims. even if its 20 dollars now. honestly its been 10 years it should be at most 15 dollars. Late night was way better with all the instruments you got. 20 bucks to sing to strangers on a street or do crappy magic tricks. with a main feature friend mechanic. screw that.

I'm really having fun watching your old reviews for The Sims 3 (I've seen 3 or 4 already. I couldn't agree more with you, but since Showtime was my first expansion, I can't live without the entertainment stuff added by the pack. It took me some time to have Late Night as essential as Showtime, and, currently, I convert my showtime bars into late night ones. XD

Showtime has content that already has to be included in late night, that it's downfall. But that doesn't mean the content is bad per se. The magician and acrobat careers are quite fun, and the DJ boot is nice for parties. En the genie. Actually a very fun kind of occult type. It's kind of a late night number 2, sure, but the content itself isn't bad.

Here's a funfact about Showtime.
You need Showtime to complete The Ark Builder lifetime wish from Pets.
I had a look through the code to figure out why it was broken and it has a requirement for you to have 2 fireflies EVEN if you don't have Showtime. It doesn't tell you that you need fireflies either!

for the most part I actually really like the careers and the clothes and hairstyles that come with it. as for the rest of it. I mostly still stay offline and only kind of like the achievements. mostly cause it also gives you something else to work for to break up any monotony you might experience

I really wanted to try a singer career and play with genie, but the performers are so annoying that I had to uninstall Showtime. Every midnight the game would pick 3 citizens and turn them into performers. Every freaking midnight. - I've searched a way to stop that mess but I got nothing.

I actually like this expansion but granted I got it for free practically.
I don't like that if you switched households, the singers switch their careers to the musical career, which is annoying seeing my star sims after a few days walk around with the ratty -fan- clothing around my town.
