LGR Plays - Endless Space

Rating: 4.0; Vote: 1
Gameplay and commentary on Endless Space, a turn-based 4x strategy game similar to Master of Orion 2 LGR: How about -finite yet unbounded-? And it depends on what theory you go by, but -infinitely expanding- via the big bang supported by the Hubble Constant certainly sounds pretty endless. Maybe not technically infinite since the physical reality we can observe is finite, but it's enough so that the common idea that -the universe never ends- sticks around. And then there's the whole infinite parallel universes thing, but whatever.

Oh wait, I think I misunderstood some things, -4X-, a subganre of strategy games, known for expand, explore, exploit and exterminate mechanics. Funny stuff. I have played a little of that kind of games way back in the day (well, with my lack of English skill back then, let's say that I've tried to, though, I didn't know that those games have their own subganre with this fancy name; P We learn every day.

You'd actually be surprised how many of these games (4x strategy games) feature cheating AI's on a primary basis. It's a shame, yes, especially how it's used to compensate for rather braindead AI, but that seems to be changing over time as even the most free stuff in the world can't help an empire if it can't manage it's own economy right, and that's something players are quickly learning to exploit.

I tried this on free weekend and it is a good game. but at the end of the day I don't like it. It's because of one design choice that I disagree with. It's the expansion disapproval system. I get why it's there, to limit the players to some extent, but it ruined the experience for me. BTW what kind of sense does it make when Cravers, a race whos only purpose is to expand gets expansion disapproval!

ES constantly update and patch, great community. they said will add new combat system and keep rebalance the game, if you like the game that grow up with you then join their community and be the voice: )
it's like Civilization V but mini version, still if anyone think that price isn't right then you can wait for the discount on steam, indie game got discount often.

Good game but. why only big ships can participate in battle? Also if TBS, must be fully TBS. This strange selection of actions during battle just not good. Developers can learn something from console games if out of fantasy. All this can be selected before battle start or before battle phase. not during or after -_- Other elements of game just boring

Sure it is. Space doesn't mean stars, planets, and other forms of matter. Why do you thing space is called -space-. Because it's empty space of course. Even beyond the stars, planets, ect (the universe) there certainly is still empty space. It's not like we reach the end of the universe to find a brick wall with graffiti on it that says -end of space-.

That wasn't a walkthough, that was a video of me simply playing the game (an -LGR Plays- as I call them. I didn't even begin to do a walkthrough of all the content of the game in those videos. Walkthroughs are much more involved and aren't something I'll be doing. Now an LGR Plays video, that's possible.

I bought this because of this review, and I've hit a brick wall.
I have 12 systems, in one arm of a galaxy, and I can't make enough food to feed everyone. I'm just grinding turns to skill up more food production, I have EVERY planet dedicated to food, yet every planet is on strike. :(

For me it was a big disappointment that you have no direct control of units in battle, i had really hoped it would be more like imperium galactica, empire at war, or sins of a solar empire, in the way that you manually steer your units in battle.
