Neat, I had the version with the box art for the Tandy (with a picture that was a room full of treasure. Which now makes me wonder how that picture was put together - was it at the Williams' house? (you know one of their prior games had a photo from their hot tub! and some stores wouldn't even stock that game: ). At 6: 06 wow, it wasn't a typo in the manual, even in -game it was Grahame - and I compared that text description to the 1987 version, they did change it to Graham. 05: 23 isn't that intro tune also used when you enter the castle for the first time? (yes, in the '87 version, when you open the castle doors, it plays that sound. On the Tandy 1000 at 8MHz, I didn't notice the -drawing of the scenes- as much - but that is a neat effect. Would be neat to see a modern game capture that effect, of -painting a scene- but actually make it playable while it is being drawn and painted (i. e. already completed painted objects can move across remaining unpainted background. 10: 05 Amen. // Ken is working on a new game here in 2022, be on the lookout!

I clicked on this video expecting captures of gameplay from oh, so nostalgia game. Only to be thrust onward into an LGR 'tech tales. ' Not to say I am disappointed, actually pleasantly surprised, because I quite like tech tales, just wasn't expecting. I haven't watched the remaining 8 minutes of this video yet, but wanted to put that reaction out there.
hrrmf and dermmf.

In late 2013, my then Flappy Bird and Minecraft obsessed 9 year old was in a house in Minecraft, and it had a picture of Sir Graham on the wall. After my explaining the picture, he and I then played a fun game of how to score 159 out of 158 in King's Quest (Roberta Williams Anthology running through DOSBox. He still refers to it as a great classic game.

I remember playing this game back in the 84. My Parents worked for IBM in the 80s and 90s. I remember getting the IBM PC Jr. in 1984. Pretty much I wasn-t a -Computer Whiz- at 12 years old but I could play this game. Plus there was a cheat where you could win without finding all the treasures of Daventry. Oh how much I miss my childhood.

I'm embarrassed to admit this, I never solved the Rumpelstiltskin puzzle, thus never finishing the game. It's haunted me most of my life. Not a day goes by that I don't think about it. And here I am posting on a video that is 7 years old. I suppose I could Google the solution to puzzle, but then I'd have no purpose in life. Carry on.

My buddy's dad had a PCjr, and that's the version that he owned. I remember my buddy had never really played it until I went over to his house one day and I wanted to try it. And that led to us being huge fans of the entire series for years after that. I hadn't seen the original IBM packaging since 1985 until this video.

ERROR: - 1: 46 the literature states -Please note that sound cards and mice are not supported, as they DID NOT EXIST. -
Not true. I had an IBM PCjr with the IBM King's Quest Edition, and we had a MOUSE!
It was a Mouse Systems Optical Mouse (with metal grid mouse pad. It came with PC Paint. (didn't work for KQ tho.

Yeah. .. Its supposed to be Sir Graham. Because I can't fully remember if it's King's Quest 1 or 2, but if you ask -what is Graham's last name? - it will tell you his last name is -Crackers-. That's right. .. Somers Ahoy! For any Aussies if you don't have any Yank mates, you might wanna Google it.

Sierra's desire to kill or soft lock the player worked really well for their earlier, shorter games - they felt like rogue-lites, lol. Well, I didn't mind it in Space Quests and Quest for Glory either, but just because I knew Sierra already, so I saved often, and to different slots.

How/Where can I get a good working original-state digital copy of the '85) Tandy 1000. IMG booter version? Unlike the '87 enhanced version and the '90 SCI remake, it's not being sold; it's abandonware, but I can't find a copy to download, and man have I been looking!
