I'd certainly like to see you cover the Acorn Archimedes if it becomes possible in future, they were the formative computer experience for a generation of British schoolkids (including me - well that and the BBC Micro. While it wouldn't be the full hardware experience, one thing hobbyists in the UK have been doing is using a Raspberry Pi (which is distantly descended from the Acorn hardware) with an image of the Acorn RISC OS on an SD card. Even if you don't get to cover the hardware, I'd be interested to see your reaction to the OS, which in many ways was ahead of Windows and its better known rivals (e. g. using three mice buttons long before it was the standard in Windows.

Seeing all these edutainment games makes me wish I had a way to send you a bunch of -Addy- games from Germany, a series of games to teach language, math, etc. which came with a bunch of extra games as a -reward- for finishing lessons, only the games were all knock offs of already existing ones, such as arkanoid, a series of point and click adventures with little trolls, and some other ones.

I'm sure you've already ascertained this, but I believe those games at 15: 15 are Hong Kong releases of the titles (back when the U. K. controlled Hong Kong. For the market that spoke more Chinese than English. Also, I have to say, a bit jealous of the acoustic coupler (always wanted one, even if it's mostly obsolete, and the packing peanut cartoon is so LGR-appropriate. :)

Holy cow! I love watching your videos, but I feel sorry for your postal worker and local UPS/ FedEx drivers. Maybe you have an easy to access house, but if I ever got that many packages they would be giving me a scowl and throwing the boxes all over the place, because it's a good trip from the driveway up the hill to my home. Great video!

Hmmm. looking at the package for Mary Kate & Ashley while saying -You know this is gunna be whipped out. and covered. - Dirty man, though they are a legal pair now. And omg the Easy Bake oven keyboard overlay. I played that with my daughter when she was 3-4 years old! That along with Doom, Zoombinis, and other fun stuff she loved!

LGR let me tell you Captive is an absolutely amazing game, it is a Dungeon Master clone with modern weapons, robots, machine guns etc. It is also impossible to fully complete as it has tens of thousands of generated levels. Its a bit confusing to start with but man, amazing game! You have to really work to get far in this game.

10: 43 That's one thick Police Quest 3 box! I also have Police Quest 3 in 'big box', but that's normal big box size, with 3, 5 inch floppies. The info got damaged on it somehow though. I remember copying it for somebody and shortly after having to ask him to copy it back or so because it got damaged on mine.

Any hardware that needs fixing will get the full treatment from GadgetUK, and guest appearances will be made by Steve Benway and Mamemeister, who will contribute 'Arse' and 'Ah, bollocks' as necessary.

My high school randomly had a bunch of Acorn Archimedes. I didn't know what they were at the time - only working it out later when I got into retro computing - but we did play Sim City on them, as well as the Greygum Software educational games Math Circus and The Land of Um.
