When I didn't get good grades in my midterms, my mom yelled at me for a whole damn hour, told me to sit and bake since that's all I care about, asked me to hit her for ever trusting me, and said, and I quote why don't you go into depression over your grades instead of what I say to you! when I'm not actually depressed, and then pretends that depression is just me worrying about things and that she has nothing to do with it

I told my father that he should see a psychiatrist bc i noticed how he couldn't stop his intake of alcohol. He couldn't sleep without it. He laughed at me and said that he could do a month without alcohol. Told me he can manage and that i was ridiculous for even suggesting he should see a psychiatrist but two days later i see him back at it again amd he can't even look me in the eye.

You just get me Lilly I have African parents and if you say you're depressed they'll be like how are you not happy and I'm just staring at them like but thank God I am not depressed but for people out there who have mental illnesses I hope you get better and your parents let you get therapy.

OMG. The most relatable for me when your mom says I want us to be friends then u tell the truth and she grounds you for 2 months. This has literally happened more times than I can count (my parents are Punjabi. Then she blames me for having trust issues.

I would say Indian culture itself dont believe in mental health lol. Learned alot of lessons and in the hard way when I was in relationships with indian guys, I've been judged and said by them that I was faking it and giving excuses too be lazy.
