to be fair, in late 1997 into 1998, George Cloony's star power REALLY took a nose dive after that embarrassingly bad role in the laughably terrible movie Batman and Robin, he's lucky he even got to bark like a dog, they might have just made him make shit and fart sounds while the dog took a crap.

Spaceballs had a lot of stars in the movie with small parts. Dick Van Patton, Jim J. Bullock, Rhonda Shear, Jack Riley, Tim Russ, Dom Deluise, Phil Hartman, and Michael York as one of the Apes.
Mel Brook's also had Robin Hood Men In Tights with Patrick Stewart showing up at the end.

As far as I know, Vin Diesel in first GotG movie was responsible for motion capture moves of Groot. He even practiced walking on special thing [I don't know how it is called], to prep for the movie. So maybe he spoke only 3 words, but he had more things to do.

Vin Dieesel did not only voice Groot in English, he did voice Groot on every language. Also the fact that they used a well known actor such as Vin Diesel for Groot helps marketing, which is part of the value of the actor.

Are you mental? Vin Diesel did a TON of work for guardians. He recorded his own lines in every language he movie was translated to. On top of what he had to do for each different inflection.
