During the final sequence where Mario captures Bowser and escapes with Peach, he enters a pipe at one point for an 8-bit section. The Bowser-Mario holding Peach sprite is actually the same as how Bowser looks like when Mario is using the Mega Classic 8-Bit Mario Power-up (The one given from the classic 8-bit Mario amiibo. It's very subtle, but it is the same.

- Odyssey doesn't take him far from the Mushroom Kingdom. He's on the same planet. In Galaxy and Galaxy 2 he travels across the Universe.
- Painter Costume references Mario Artist Painter Studio on the N64 DD. Not Mario Paint.
- Princess Peach does appear in the Mushroom Kingdom after you talk to her in the other kingdoms she visits.

In mushroom kingdom you can refight a harder version of previous bosses, you can access them by finding and jumping into painting. And it plays the original super mario 64 sound effect
