I havent read fraken castle but I have all four issues of space punisher and boy is that shit weird (coming from a major anime fan) also theres that failed attempt at making him a ronin, have that issue too. After watching the show I realized that for the first time ever Id prefer the series to be mostly episodic. A lot of the better punisher stories are one shots. My fav punisher comic is called little black book. A high profile hooker tells how she was abducted by the punisher to get him into a high profile house party so he could kill a VIP. She has to do what he says cause he has her phone or little black book with all her connections and will hold onto it until the mission is complete. She talks about how disturbing the situation is as she knows every action she does is aiding in people dying and she flees the first chance she gets causing her to bump into some street thugs half naked. The punisher shows up just as theyre about to rape her and he brutally/nonchalantly murders them then hands her her phone and walks off.

Okay did not finish the first season yet but after few episodes need to say it is Daredevil with more blood and emotional shit. Which is nonsense: Frank Castle is not a person who would afford himself any self doubt or emotional moment not only because his discipline but being a borderline sociopath. However this is all we have so I've decided to be happy with that handle as a different universe of the same (anti)hero. There was potential but shareholders are not happy with original ideas or to be loyal for something what was unique in the first place. It is the same story with video games. It is a risk to loose money if u not cover all kind of consumers. On that way Punisher adaptations are relatively lucky to being as they are.

Wonder why you thought the Black Punisher was inappropriate? There's a great page where Castle is walking down the street, and he keeps getting harrassed, just because he is 'black' (don't take offence, I know he wasn't ACTUALLY black, but for comic purposes, he may as well have been) it is this moment that he realises there is another level of hate crime that is now active in his Punisher List. He understands how just being a different colour can cause hurt, harm and crime to happen. Hence in a future story when he battles White Supremacists

I think the Franken Castle could happen, ending one of the seasons defeated by a man he couldn't defeat, bleeding and dying someone finds and rescues him, although leaving him with scars. not saying he'll have his face sewed back on but just a realistic take of it would be fun. Then someone that knows him could call him Franken Castle as a fun hint to the comics

People really care about the punisher suddenly being black, he didnt overtly act racially offensive or anything he just changed his skin in a disguise. Im black and Id be offended if he acted racially insensitive but he is the damn punisher he does whatever he wants to kill whatever he wants. Race politics are irrelevant. Ps its just a comic.

I'm so glad they made the Punisher stand alone. Magic, robots, and aliens would have completely ruined the show. I just finished watching it and it's fantastic. I haven't been able to watch any other Super Hero shows for more than a few episodes before finally giving up. The Punisher however is just awesome.

I think for season 1 The Punisher series delivered on the blood. Can't wait for Season 2 cause I know next time the shit is going to be more darker, gore as well as messy. My GF thinks I'm a psychopath cause I kept laughing near the end of the first episode. But it was fun. Hope to see someone like MoonKnight.

Punisher turning black wasn't that weird. Unlikely as hell but not weird. He was THE most wanted man in America since he'd killed some Senator's son (I believe. Sorry it's been a while. It wasn't done in a campy or stereotypical way. I can remember a lot of fan mail referencing the book Black Like Me.

Ok, i could see Frank being on a jetski, but cmon, all these crazy stories involving magic aren't going to be on the netflix show because it's clear that there is no magic in that show. It's realistic, and by that I mean an extremely stretched story that you sort of have to not poke holes in.
