4. She even stops Finn from doing the right thing, which is self-sacrifice for her petty less than one day love swing.
5. Her actions inevitably cause more death and harm to her peers, and even throws mud on her sister's sacrifice.

The Last Jedi was one of the 3 films Disney needed to produce in order for their version of the canon to gain any sense of legitimacy. And they blew it this time.
The prequels did better because though they were pretty laughable and wonky--they still felt like legitimate additions to the Star Wars universe as well as Lucas' earnest (though not blameless) desire to have a good time with his property. And people could feel that. The problem was party Lucas having _too much fun_ and making the universe he created feeling cheaper as result. But that's another issue, the point is most people, particularly in China, would probably choose to watch one of his wushu-inspired lightsaber whacka-fests over the problematic bombshell that is Episode VIII. Because at least it would feel like something you do to relax and have a good time.

Really, let's be honest, who here is impatient to find out what happens to Rose, Ren, Rey, etc? who is impatient to find out where the rebel are going next? who cares about the Republic at this point? I feel bad for Abrams, poor guy has quite the mess to deal with.

This is absolute rubbish. I am an ex-pat in China and was here when Last Jedi launched. The problem with this movie not doing well is because it is not a good movie. It was propped up in America and Europe because of past fans who liked the original trilogy and to some extent the prequels. This part of your article was almost correct. But when you take away the fanboy base the movie needs to succeed on its own merits, and as we saw, it tanked. Rogue One did better because it was a better movie. Face it folks, if your product only earns only 28 million in a country of 1. 3 billion people. The fault lies singularly with your product. Blaming it on anything else stinks of Kathleen Kennedy's farts.

TFA did 124 mil in China. TLJ got pulled. Let that sink in.
TFA killed it at the box office and had fans really engaged and talking about all the theories for two years. They were genuinely excited for TLJ. All they had to do was make a decent (7/10) sequel to TFA and they wouldve been rolling in the money. Instead they let Ruin do his thing. He basically scrapped everything from TFA and in the process pissed off the fans and critically wounded the franchise. It honestly might never recover. Its just such a dumb business decision. Why waste all that goodwill and momentum that JJ got them with TFA. So dumb.

Don't expect the next Star Wars movies to get any better. They will only get worse. The people in charge of it now are ultra leftist liberal progressives, and people like that are unoriginal, unimaginative asswipes who value mediocrity over creativity. They are one trick ponies, and their one trick is to fill movie narratives with ultra leftist propaganda. The next Star Wars movies will have more diversity and feminism shoved down our throats in place of a real story. It's the same thing they did with Ghostbusters 2016. It's sad, but that's the way it is.

Was TLJ really a hit in the US? Take the cost of the movie + marketing against the box office or more important Disney's percentage of the box office. Weigh this over the 4. 5 billion Disney paid for the franchise a little of 5 years ago and also remember the drop-off in ticket sales has increased with each Disney Wars movie and TLJ merchandise sales have been pathetic, they couldn't give away Rose toys!

The income from the Last Jedi is carried on the strength of the memory of the originals. People hope to see the same again, but they'll never live up to it. Now the original cast is gone, it's just another sci-fi. Memory lane only goes so far. Do you really think that this crap can stand on its own?

I remember the days when I was young in China, my mother brought me the VHS tape of Forrest Gump, Lion King, Braveheart, Shashank Redemption, Pulp Fiction, Terminator 2. Those were the days of Hollywood cinema we the Chinese people admired most. Nowadays, you put out, Batman, Ironman, Superman, American captain, Thorn, Catwoman, Batman 2, Batman 8, Batman 145, sorry, keep your bullsht there. These are basically insult to our brains. Please bring us some depth, not some unrelatable muscle man. Thanks.

I have watched TFA and Rogue One, and still, I think both of those are still OK. But The Last Jedi is a total insult to everything I watched prior. Thanks Disney for trying to push agendas in their movies (think Gay Lefou from Beauty and the Beast. We just want to watch a good movie.
