Movie Performances That Are Practically Flawless Mari: I feel like Sebastian Stan is very underrated as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier/White Wolf, not only by critics, but even by Marvel itself. If another actor had gotten the role, we would've most likely wanted Bucky to be dead by now, but Sebastian added a lot of humanity and empathy to the role, making him one of the most complex and tragically engaging characters in the MCU. And not only did he do that, but he studied hard so he could convey Bucky's emotions in a way that would feel relatable/realistic, especialy while portraying brainwashed Winter Soldier, where he said he was more concerned about making the Winter Soldier a threat rather than just a villain, adding even more depth to this character. And he did all of that with barely ten lines per movie, just a great use of body language/facial expressions, mainly in his eyes, and with less appearances than other characters (combining all of his movies - including post-credit scenes and more recently Endgame - he has only 47 minutes of screentime)

Dustin Hoffman in TOOTSIE:
Micheal Dorsey is a very flawed character, self obsessed, womanizing and he's (of course) written that way, he has to be heavily flawed because of his alter ego: Dorothy Michaels, the unexpected feminist side Micheal (and the audience) no one expected he had. Hoffman has to pull off both characters who are the same person but polar opposites.
I love Kathy Bates & MISERY I'm glad she won the Oscar, but I would say Jack Nicholson topped that performance with his Jack Torrence in THE SHINING. To be honest, I'm not one of that movies biggest fans, but I CANNOT deny the performance Jack gives. Anyone else would have come across as overdone in THAT performance and I'd argue only Nicholson can make THAT performance work. The further he slips into madness the more horrifying he is. A bad performance would have tanked that movie, it would have been a laugh riot!
Just my two cents worth.

This list is pretty right on except for the Meryl Streep Miranda. I love her and her movies. She's wonderful but in my opinion and some other major critics, definitely not the absolute finest actress although certainly the most celebrated. Why? She's a rare American character actress who can do accents. If she were a Brit she wouldn't have won or been nominated for as many awards. We just take the superior training and talent of the Brits and Aussies for granted. Of course they are brilliant! Could someone else have played Miranda better? Or course. Emma Thomson or Cate Blancett are not only drama queens superior but are hilarious comedians whose tecnique never shows as does Streeps. I'm always aware she's acting. It's still moving much of the time but not as natural or believable as Thomson, Blanchett or the magnificent Liv Ullman. No comparison.

Sorry, but your list sucks. If we just stay in America and ignore the rest of the world as you did, I could add more, but this is a good start:
Gena Rowlands in A Woman Under the Influence
James Stewart in Vertigo
Robert De Niro in Taxi Driver
Gene Hackman in French Connection
Jack Nicholson in The Last Detail & Five Easy Pieces
Robert Mitchum in The Night of The Hunter
Peter Sellers in Being There
Peter O'Toole in The Ruling Class
Al Pacino in Serpico
Sean Connery in The Offence
Mia Wasikowska in Stoker
Johnny Depp in Ed Wood

Whaaaaaaat? Killmonger? Really? I think it was just refreshing to have an adequate villain in a Marvel film streak of forgettable villains. Lets be honest, without the race card, he would never have made this list. Killmonger is the chocolate cake when we're used to a string of Twinkies, but Heath Ledger's Joker was, in comparison, was miles above this 'adequate' performance. Chocolate gnash on mousse on a bed of creme brule. on a bed of. cheese cake. or. something better.

michale b jordan as killmonger a good villian? nope lol. he was one of the worst villains in the mcu on par with the villain in ant-man. the guy was supposed to be a navy seal. he just comes across as a selfish gang banger ghetto kid. like kylo ren is an emo girl with daddy issues. they are just not interesting or imposing or scary. at all! thanos, thats a real bad guy.

i'm sorry. but the remake of true grit was terrible from beginning to end. and it was mostly because of the dialogue, dialects, and acting itself. sorry but it was terrible. original true grit didn't need that over the top weird speech patterns. and its still 1000000x better than anything good that can be said about the remake. in my opinion of course.
