Awful Films That Ended An Actor's Hot Streak
video description
The Great Wall is a bewildering marvel to my western mind. I cannot imagine there being an ongoing conflict of cultures and deaths and battles that China concluded that the Wall was needed to keep out not just the present enemy, but all future enemies too.
And I don't remember quite what movie it was where a lawyer demanded a witness tell it to me like I'm a 2 year old, maybe 3, suggested age shifts depending on our age.
So they tried to tell the story of the Great Wall like we the audience were 8 or 9 year olds. The gave us heroes - or mercenaries who had once
Been heroes but had been in war long enough that it was scaring the hearts and
Making heroes into mercenaries. Ok. Clear. And the Chinese not only have the Wall, they have dyes and
Fabrics that look rich and powerful - unlike the ripped or stained gear of
The mercs. The Chinese have a regimented army and fortress unlike anything the mercs have scene.
Get, seems like the subtext here is that we as western consumers and the Chinese as
Eastern consumers, see things from different perspectives, but like My Big Fat Greek Wedding, 'in the end, we're all fruit.
Once the aliens showed up Western and
Eastern audiences
Could ALL root for the armies to kill the aliens.
That's a lot of subject, so I can see why in sce
Cases, things might have been set to the tecoo

Interesting list. Some of these films I've never heard of, like Serena, so I guess they were duds. But you missed the boat on at least one. A lot of stars end up in bad films from time to time, but I don't agree with your Matthew McConaughey choice - Free State of Jones. I thought that was one of the best films I've ever seen. Not sure how you judge these but some of these films are much deeper than you realize. Free State of Jones is just that, an amazing hidden piece of history no one knew about that shaped our country back then. He was and is considered a great hero still in that part of the country. To each his own.

Yeah, Lawrence SUCKED in American Hustle. That wasn't as much her fall as when she was exposed as a crappy actress. EVERYTHING she was in afterwards SUCKED>
The Lady Killers was TERRIBLE. It looked so promising.
Clooney is overrated. He either puts up a solid performance in a good movie or is terrible no matter the material.
King Arthur was ok. Excalibur should have retired it though. Not one has been as good as that movie or the cast. Being 30+ years old it still has a unique and fresh look today. Only the blue screen at the very end dates the film.

Not that any of these celebrities in particular did this, but how politically vocal a beloved actor is may have something to do with their own decline. Of course, they must be allowed their opinion, but unlike us common folks (who help pay their salaries) their soapbox is much more prominent, visible and can garner more views. If an actor has an extreme view which directly counters my own view, I will quietly boycott their works.

I loved King Arthur and thought Charley Hunnan did the part justice, gave him a nice twist as a Cinderella character. Was hopeful that they would make a sequel. Missed this at the cinema had to wait for the video as I was away on holiday and was only on for a week at the cinema. Should have been released on time. It was months after the trailers were shown. Thought was never going to be released.

People are pretty douchie, man. One movie that doesn't suit your sensibilities, and you decide an actor isn't good anymore. So, basically you want an actor to just make the same movie role over and over again. But then you complain when they play a role that looks phoned in. No wonder these movies are the same boring shit. People have no imagination.

I'm so disappointed the King Arthur did poorly. I friggen loved it! It was a classic Guy Richie movie, fantastic writing, fast moving parts, and exciting actions. I left the theatre feeling pumped! I don't know why it didn't show up well in the box office. Perhaps poor marketing. I dunno, cause everyone I talked to that saw it loved it.

King Arthur. Get rid of the myth. Kill the mysticism. Denigrate the high ideals and emotions and have young men strip off their shirts and do Kung Fu fighting. That's how Millennials want their legends. Those who like the movie were glad it looked and performed like a video game rather than some old stuffy legend or such. What ever.

Acclaim is not based on how much money a movie makes. Clearly recent history should be a big indicator. Definitely rotten tomatoes is a good indicator. Sometimes it might be worth investigating why it didnt gross much money. That said having a nuanced indie film with a strong director might help your chances for awards
