New Theory Explains Why Captain America Couldnt Lift Thors Hammer Evan: If you think about it again how could cap be less worthy than thor? Thor got his worthiness back by being smacked by A hunk of metal. Cap jumped a grenade, got shot by bucky multiple times but still managed to finish the mission, crashed a plane sacrificing himself, refused to fight his friend, and so much more. He could easily have lifted the hammer, even if he tried in the first avenger he would be able to. You are either worthy or not worthy and there is no between. If you could be partially worthy then most of the avengers would probably nudge it. Cap did not want the responsibility of mjolnir and knew the outcome if he tried to lift it up. Cap would never embarrass someone like that and show off. He only uses it when it is his last resort. Iron man was never able to wield it because he never made a single life sacrificing moment until endgame. And to make more things clear vision was unable to lift the hammer after civil war because of the fight with Hawkeye and over protecting scarlet witch

It's not that Captain America couldn't lift Thor's hammer it's that he chose not to. Steve Rodgers reflexes are so highly tuned that when he grabbed Mjolnir he noticed that it moved then he quickly pretended that he couldn't lift it. Thor saw that too. Steve Rodgers has so much respect for Thor he didn't want to take it away from him. Captain America doesn't need Thor's power. Captain America has unlimited physical power. He can defeat physically the Hulk, Thanos or Captain Marvel. What he doesn't have is laser blasts, fire or energy blasts coming from his fists or body. For that he would need Mjolnir and Thor's powers of lightning.

Just wanna clear about something to the douchebags that said cap Isn't worthy. I always believed the reason cap didnt pick it up in AOU is because he didnt wanna embarrasse thor infront of everyone. And yeah before you people say he became worthy after confesing to tony i wanna clear out one thing, Cap didnt pick up the hammer just for Curiosity in endgame. He knew he was worthy all along cap always believed that a person shouldnt have more power than he needs so when he saw thor getting overpowered he knew he had to pick it up inorder to save thor. Cap is, was and always will be worthy of the mjolnir as believed by thor.

Cap was worthy the whole time Cap proved his true worthiness when he jumped on a grenade with no superhuman abilities willing to give his life for others at all costs that's worthy to me. So when he budges the hammer he doesn't want to embarrass Thor in front of everyone instead he choses to hold off and keep it a secret. Plus it's really the directors fault Cap wielding Mjolnir in battle for the first time in battle against Thanos is the best possible reaction they could have gotten from that moment we wouldn't have reacted the same if he just casually lifts the hammer at a cocktail party

the truth is captain america didnt want to embarass thor and cap is not kind of guy who embarass his friend. maybe cap is kind of guy who didnt proud even he able to lift up thor hammer like example the ending whereby cap returning all the infinity stone, he didnt say he proud that he able to lift uo thor hammer instead of he just remain silent when he lift up thor hammer. he didnt even say anyting to his friend about how and why he able to lift up thor hammer.

Captain American wasnt able pick up mjolnir back then because he was keeping the truth about Tonys parents death during the events of Ultron. Its touched upon in Civil War during their fight scene at the end of the movie. Once Steve admitted to Tony he knew Bucky killed his parents (Im assuming through SHIELD and HYDRA info lying around during Winter Soldier) all those years ago he became truly worthy.

I feel like captain america chose not to lift Mjolnir cause he doesn't feel like he has anything to prove.
Think about it, his persona is not one to boast. He budged it and probably felt immeadiately Thor's power and knew he could wield it. Fast forward to Thor's response in Endgame I knew it. Thor felt it in age of Ultron, and has given much respect throughout to captain america

A Worthy can only be 2 thing, Worthy or not Worthy at all, there is no Partially worthy or half worthy or other bs, so by mean of Steve Lifting Mjolnir is actually worthy, but at that time he was probably pretend to not lift it so Thor wont get triggered af, also at that time his worthiness does not match his pride so less power for him

He can already lift the hammer in this timeline, He just didn't want to embarass Thor so after he moved it a little he stopped himself from picking it up so he pretended he couldn't but he can because at End Game he used the Mjolnir better than Thor with all the lightning skills. He already knew how to wield the Hammer.

I watched a video and the Russo Brothers apparently confirmed that cap didnt want to embarrass Thor in age of ultron, so all these kids can stop going on about not telling tony about his parents etc because its dead wrong
