Alternate Movie Endings That Were Better Than The Original
video description
Heathers - Sorry but that would have sucked. The whole point was that Winona's character realized how horrible her friends were and how dangerous her love interest was. It was cathartic to see her make up with dump truck.
First Blood - The alternate ending is way too depressing. He fights for freedom against persecution. What did he accomplish if he died after all that? Nothing really. He just terrorized a town and their police force. Of course it was justified but without Rambo 2, we wouldn't have seen what he was really capable of as a hero. The only mediocre sequel was Rambo 3. The rest were good movies.
Scott Pilgrim - No, no, no! Ok, so the point of Ramona was to give Scott someone that worked for him, someone with a similar past and was as damaged as he was. That's the only way a relationship with him works in the long run, if there are challenges along the way. Knives was too sweet and simple for him. She represented every other girl he was with previously that didn't work out because they weren't the one. She wasn't the one to him, Ramona was.
Die Hard - I guess you missed the point of this, or any of the Die Hard movies. It's action. That's pretty much it. The alternate ending is about as anti-climactic as you can get, especially with this franchise.

Pretty in Pink: why do you want to be with someone that doesn't feel the same way about you? Andi didn't love Ducky, they were just friends. Blaine actually cared about her, in a classic John Hughes way, and she cared about him. i wouldn't want to be with someone out of pity or I guess I love you too. sorta way. Ducky deserves better.
Scott Pilgrim: i agree with the theatrical ending cause he went through hell for Ramona and he ends up with Knives. no. he fought and won Ramona's heart that she was willing to give him. like Ducky, Knives deserves better

I grew up loving and rooting for Ducky. Now, watching Pretty in Pink with modern eyes, it is a proto-nice guy complete with fedora-like headgear. I still love the character, but prefer the ending where he doesn't get the girl who made it obvious she doesn't love him in a romantic way by negging and wearing her down over time (He just gets another trophy girl out of left field. 80s movies are troublesome) At least John Hughes got a redo on the ending he wanted with Some Kind of Wonderful.

The directors cut of the butterfly effect is NOT better than the original one. Many scenes make more sense because of the DX ending, but the message of the movie gets twisted. It tells you that the world would be better without him, and thats not true, because in the original ending they can exist in the same world without being miserable

Hate the alternative ending to butterfly effect, not only is it ridiculous but after all the shit Aston goes through its was just horrible for him to not be born. For me him sacrificing his love and walking away to oasis stop crying your heart out is by far the better choice! Sometimes the director isnt always right!

The butterfly effect ending is worse than that. If you remember. The mother said he was her third attempt at a baby. The others also died. So we can assume there were 3 siblings in the beginning and each slowly came to the decision to kill themselves. Driving their mother futher and further into depression.

For Sixteen Candles kind of makes you wonder if it were made today if screening audiences would have rejected the theatrical ending for the alternate where the two geeks find love. The acceptance & embrace of Geek culture has come a long way since 1984.

the first mistake of butterfly effect was hiring ashton kutcher who still as yet to prove that he isn't still just kelso, i watched heather's about a billion times don't really know why since i'm not a fan of winona ryder, christian slater or shannon doherty.

Watched Die Hard in theatre and loved it right up until that ending, feeling it was tacked-on even then, considering how seamlessly the rest of the plot delivered. The villain-busting clue was aspirin with a truck stop sticker on the bottle? Get bent.

I'm Legend. The alternate/(original turned alternate) ending was actually different adding some extra feelings and meaning to, otherwise, feral beasts. The ending that eventually ended up in the film made it just another zombie film.
