Small Details In Halloween You Missed jose: In my opinion the reason Michael always wanted to kill Laurie was because of the DEEP resentment he ended up having toward Judith which emotionally traumatized him, (remember, EVERY good emotion and feeling has its equal yet opposite counterpart) which in turn has something to do with the NOT ACCEPTING ANOTHER in what was between Judith and Michael (age 6. Yes of course a 6 year old can be resentful and angry toward another's mojo that gets in between, and what was between Judith and Michael age 6? Well perhaps they had a very good moral relationship the went deep within Michael yet Judith was just like oh yea that's my little brother, that's all and when the unwanted would come over (the boyfriend) Judith would turn ALL her attention to the unwanted which made Michael feel he was no longer important, no longer significant, cast aside, unloved perhaps? Of course this wasn't true but in Michael's undeveloped mind he very well knew NOT to like what he felt. So he does the unthinkable so as to project the emotion and feeling, if I cant have her NO ONE WILL. These feelings and emotions leaked over to Laurie and even though they may or may not be brother and sister, clearly he still felt the resentment so as to act on it.
It has been made clear MANY times over that when another party comes in what was original, then usually one or more of the original party members DO NOT approve and severely dislike the newcomer until he or she is either made to detach or to be tolerated and then maybe, just maybe. Case in point: when the original father or mother separates and the other comes in, how is he or she accepted? I remember when I was a teenager how my brothers, ESPECIALLY the favored one, used to react to my step fathers instructions! Oh boy it was bad. None of us really liked stepdad's instructions but definitely tolerated them realizing it was for the best but the favored brother. HE NEVER accepted ANY OUTSIDE INSTRUCTION OTHER THAN MOMS! The favored brother HATED stepdad and yes they would fist fight. Imagine how the favored brother used to feel when stepdad went out with moms! See what I mean? Yes that kind of thing, NOT EXACTLY but yes around that sort of thing.
And it is for this (or something very close to it) in my most observant opinion, that Michael totally resented Laurie and say add a little misguided influence from who knows where and there you go. These feelings toward Laurie NEVER went away and has basically kept him slave to his current behavior ALL the days of his life. Yes I believe he was able to speak and just chose not too and yes he was smart in his actions and surroundings.

Few things I noticed:
In the classroom scene the topic being discussed is fate. The same topic that's being discussed in the 1978 film where Laurie see's Micheal out the window.
Also Micheal appears to be blind in one eye. I'm assuming because of the coat hanger that Laurie uses to poke at Micheal at the end of the 1978 film.
Micheal uses pumpkins to decorate his kills. In the 1978 film he he uses his sisters headstone and pumpkins around Annie's body. He does something similar with Vickie's body, putting a pumpkin in the fish tank next to her, and putting the ghost sheet on top of her.

I was a bit disappointed for some aspects of it but overall it was good movie I would rank this one a 7. 5 of 10 and out of the whole franchise I have this one ranked #4 ps the Mask, Nick castle and Jamie Lee Curtis we're great and I loved the Easter eggs they put into this film, what I hated about movie was they put too much gore kills in it, some of the new characters just didn't fit into movie I didn't like the young black boy cussing like a sailor and I was hoping to see this film as a grand finale to Michael Myers franchise but no they left it open for another sequel SMH

Here's a little detail I caught that may or may not be intended. Psychiatrist Dr. Ranbir Sartain that took the place of Dr. Loomis turns out a bad guy in the film. I noticed his last name (Sartain) is just two letters different from Samhain, meaning the festival of the Dead or Summer's End. A reminder that this was actually spoken of & written in Halloween II from 1981 and from I believe the Curse of Michael Myers in 1995. There's definitely a chance it was just coincidental, or it could've actually been purposeful for the sake of subtle Easter Eggs!

Guys for any of you all who have seen movie critics that talk down and talk shit about this movie with their oh so high opinions don't believe them. This movie was amazing from start to finish it pays homage to what came before but had enough twists and turns to stay fresh and innovative. It knows exactly what it is and is not trying to be more than what it is. a slasher film. Everyone did fantastic in this movie. Go and see for yourselves

They missed the part when before the creepy friend got murdered in the backyard, he said the name Mr. Elrod. That's a reference to the neighbors Myers stole that knife from in the opening scenes of 81's sequel. The lady screamed as she touches the blood he left. When another neighbor (a teenage girl talking on the phone) hears the scream, then runs out to the backyard and yells Are you ok Mrs. Elrod? Mr. Elrod?

A blink & you miss it Easter egg'-ish when Michael grabs the hammer and goes inside to murder the woman w/ curlers & get his trademark butcher knife the camera pans past a TV playing an episode of Voyagers (80s time travel show) More specifically its the episode Agents of Satan that 1st aired on October 31, 1982 Halloween.

-. - Michael Myers and Laurie are siblings. if it took place after halloween two then they are related. And also note that when the granddaughter says its made up. She looks bothered and doesnt seem to want to think about being relat3d to myers. I don't care what the new movie says. they've been siblings and are siblings.

Michael was the evil force in this movie that we havent seen done so well since the original. definitely a modern version of his original persona. this movie proved that Michaels character will never not be terrifying if done the way he was played in the original movie.

Seen it the day it came out & Definitely a Michael Myers fan. What a way to make a movie and I'm glad they, to me went back to the original Halloween in 78. Can never go wrong with John Carpenter's depiction. And it was perfecting timing to release it.
