TV Shows That Were So Close To Being Canceled Archerpool: You guys need to understand one simple thing as to why Daredevil was cancelled. Marvel TV shows are ran by Marvel Television. Marvel Studios and Marvel Television do not get along. Marvel CEO Ike Perlmutter was a controlling individual often forcing the creatives at Marvel Studios to make material he thought would be successful and sell merchandise. It caused a rift between him and Kevin Feige who believed in creative independence. Feige went over Perlmutters head and went to Bob Iger (Disney CEO. Iger forced Perlmutter away from Marvel Studios and gave him full control of Marvel Television while Feige could his own thing with Marvel Studios. This divide between Feige and Perlmutter has been why so called MCU TV shows have minimal connection to the films. When Disney made plans to make their own streaming service (Disney+) they told Kevin Feige that any TV shows and films that he wanted to put on the service would be in his control and be made by Marvel Studios not Marvel Television. Perlmutter is currently under investigation and Disney have refused to comment on his situation as Marvel chairman. It seems the case against him is the perfect opportunity for Marvel and Disney to finally be rid of him and allow Kevin Feige to be in control of both Film and TV for Marvel. The cancellation of the Marvel Netflix shows is nothing to do with Netflix. Netflix merely own the rights of distribution, they do not own the shows. The shows were cancelled by Disney. The reason Jessica Jones and The Punisher havent been cancelled is because theyve already invested money in the next seasons for each show. Disney ordered the cancellation of the Netflix shows as theyre Perlmutter creations, not Feige and theyre not fully integrated with the MCU. Once you know the inside information its no real surprise that they were cancelled. Its disappointing because Daredevil was a great show, but on the bright side the character is now in Kevin Feiges hands and while that probably means a reboot, it could be better in the grand scheme of things. A Daredevil thats part of the Avengers.

How do you have this list without JAG? The show was canceled after the first season by NBC but a large fan write in campaign convinced CBS to buy the rights and give it a second season, the show lasted for 9 more seasons and its spin-off NCIS is in its 17th season and has two spin offs of its own. I mean given what happened how does that not make the list.
Also for second life in animated shows, look at Family Guy, Futurama, Young Justice

I am about to cause people to lose their minds: I never enjoyed Seinfeld. I enjoyed Jerry Seinfeld as a stand up comedian, the show was arrogant. The dialogue was obnoxious and not funny. I have never understood the appeal.
I know i am a naysayer and no one will agree but I just dont want to watch shows that have that my viewers are superior because they get it quality.

Um, well, then there's Star Trek TOS which was canceled until the fanbase it had at the time convinced the network to make another season. It only got one more season, and that season isn't super fantastic, but it did result in an entire franchise that's lasted a little over 50 years.

In the UK there was a TV series, Only Fools and Horses, which had a very slow started and many thought it should have been cancelled. But the BBC stuck with it. The ratings not only picked up but one of its Christmas specials had an audience of 24 million viewers.

I am ASTONISHED how many Millennials hate such shows as; Frasier, Friends and Seinfeld. The only thing I can think of is it's an age thing. The shows were targeting 20-somethings (or older, while they were in their teens.

Surprised by Friends and Senifield. Never saw Friday Night Lights or Leftovers but I dont understand bringing back the latter just to cancel a season later. Also love Community and Arrested Development.

Man. We need more Seinfeld episodes. The cast has gotta get on that! At least we had The Curb Your Enthusiasm reunion. And a few ads with Jerry or a couple or one, like The Superbowl one.

Friends was a blatant rip off of Living Single. Kind of why black people don't really rock with Friends. With that being said that probably was the most surprising to me.
