The Most Baffling Movies Of 2018
video description
It is a challenging movie to interpret, but after a second watch in the theater, here's a take:
A parable on the dangers of demagogues, extremist politics and cultism. Set in 1977 Berlin, WWII's horrors are still embedded in Germany's national conscience. The political turmoil fueled by the anti-government RAF outside of Markos dance academy is mirrored (literally and figuratively) in the horrific acts of its matrons, and ultimately in the form of ballistic dance numbers that will be etched in the viewer's minds. Both the imagery and allegorical aspects make this remarkable achievement worthy of a second viewing, but unfortunately the stunning production design/cinematography/choreography will lose something when transferred from the theater to smaller screens.

Unsane and Mandy were surprisingly interesting movies. I like the Suspiria remake too but some folks overrate it to the point of delusion. The original is still better, much better.

3: 55 Tove Lo birthed the idea of raunchy puppets, and she deserves credit for that. I mean, she banged a puppet in a hotel!
