I strongly disagree that the villain was bad. His motivation made sense, and then he was taken over by the 7 Deadly Sins, especially Envy. Mark Strong is ALWAYS good, and he takes a character that could be cheesy and makes Dr. Silvana truly threatening.
I also disagree that the touches of horror were bad. That Boardroom scene really ramped up the stakes of letting the villain win, but since Billy didn't see it, he didn't know. However, it made the threats to the family seem much more real and significant, since we knew that the Deadly Sins would likely kill the kids as soon as Silvana got Billy's powers.

Dude, I don't know what your talking about. Too long? Really? The seven deadly sins they were Awesome. For me the bad parts were. He/they didn't have the wisdom of Solomon. It didn't show very much to me. And He/they have no names, really. When you read the comic book you don't think about it. Well I didn't. But seeing the film. Made me think, what do you call him/them. To me they will always be Capt. Marvel, Mary Marvel, and Capt. Marvel jr. The Marvel family or ok the Shazam family. But they need names to be used in the comic book/movies. Also I liked that it wasn't too funny/silly.

Loved Shazam and thought everyone did a great job in it even the villain played by Mark Strong and the little girl was adorable. I do think this movie will put a Black Adam film in a very awkward spot. If it's dark as alluded too in this movie and becomes a revenge piece then it not going to play well with this jocular film. If however, its light like this movie then it wont play well as a revenge piece either. A dark revenge flick also wont line up well with a Shazam 2 movie which you know is coming after this weekends boffo box office.

I don't know what movie y'all are watching but it was great. Refreshing, down to earth, and dark when it had to be. How do you make a super hero movie and not have some dark element to it to show how bad the evil is in it? As for the Shazam family reveal I never saw the toys so I had no idea what was going on. I knew about them but I didn't know they were going to show up in the movie and when they did when he held the staff and they all touched it, I was like holy crap this is amazing and everybody in the audience reacted the same way.

To be honest, I felt I was watching a typical Christmas movie. The lead actor and the cute little girl (also her adult version) carried the whole movie. The problem is the directing of the movie, theres a lot more potential for it since they got the perfect actor for it. The feels I had when I watched GOTG is not the same when I was watching this (not that they are comparable or anything, its just that the characters were all new to me.

Fun? Corny fun. Annoying fun. The movie is boring as hell. Save your money and wait until it comes out on TV. The movie went 1 hour and 15 mins before a fight scene. It was all whining, and really not funny quips. They gave his foster family powers before he even knew how to use his powers. I couldnt wait until it ended. Jeez. This maybe would work for kids 13 or under who arent that smart or some immature adults.

needless fist fights
So you think Shazam and Sivana should have just stuck to calling each other rude names? Or would that have been psychological abuse on screen? If the villain doesn't pose some sort of a credible threat then he isn't much of a villain, and there's not much point to the hero having super powers if everything is solved with no physical confrontations.
I think you guys just like to complain.

Looper you finally missed the entire basket on this one. Billy Batson in the comics as Shazam or Captain Marvel, one of his adventures was to recapture all of the seven deadly sins of man and they were demons in the comic books. So you officially missed the mark on your video. You need to go and check your comic book history because that was very accurate and that was one of his very first missions as Captain Marvel.

You're just proving that there are no problems Looper.
1. The film is made by made by a man who directed lights out and annabelle.
2. The bad guys are amazing, even you are saying that Mark Strong played it very well.
3. Even before you said that its too comfortable(bad, you said that its comfortable(good.
4. You didn't have a problem with the movie, you had a problem with the toy companies.
