Explaining The Ending Of Pet Sematary N-Gin: The first prequel some be a pre-prequel.
It focuses on the ancient tribes finding this piece of land and settling there for many years, but tales of the Wendigo start to surface and it too makes an appearance.
They fight it off and it curses the land threatening all who are buried there shall be reborn, but they think nothing of it.
Later on, a tribesmen's wolf dies and he takes drastic measures to Bury that wolf in the land which is ultimately resurrected.
The film ends with them leaving the land and with their dead to find somewhere else to settle up, but the last shot is one of them carving that symbol into the trees muttering a saying in tribal tongue.

This movie was alright. I really liked it. I'm going to see it a second time in theaters. I really liked that small IT reference and the small Cujo reference in the movie. I'll always prefer the original over a remake though. I don't agree with some of the changes in this film and I had problems with it. But overall, it was still a good movie.
Something I think would have made it a lot better is if they hadn't put it out there that Ellie and Gage were switching spots. It would have been cool going into the movie theater expecting Gage to die but then BOOM! It's Ellie!

Don't get me wrong, I liked the character of Judd in the book, original movie and the remake including the actors they chose for them but uhh. How are you going to know that you live next to a wendigo cursed forest that can bring back the dead for YEARS and first off not move but more important not walk around constantly armed? I would sleep shit and shower with a 12 gauge if for some reason I couldn't leave that area.

That damn cat & the girl are the reason why I can hardly wait to see this flick. I think it was a masterful idea to take out the girl, I this remake. I couldn't take another mechanical toddler. And that Kat (cat with a 'k') for killer; that thing looked like it was at an allnight meth party in the alley! All scraggly looking and PO'D: WHICH ONE OF U GENIUSES SAW FIT TO RESSURECT ME FROM MY ETERNAL SLEEP! MEOOOOOOOW!

They never actually killed Gage, so I was thinking they could make a sequel taking place when Gage is an adult with a family, but then his wife forces him to move back to that place because Gage never told them about what happened to him as a child, they have to kill the Wendigo, and a twist ending would be how Gage was killed, and brought back to life as a child, but since he so young, it didn't effect him

yes! id love to see some prequeals, and i see this, as more of a coninuation then a remake imean it isa remake but its alsou pdated so it can kindea be interpreted as a couple generations later, a new generatin moves in the area and disvovers the pet semetary. i do wish they had changed the characters names because that would help in that, but hey, it still looks great and im gonna go see it,

After seeing this I'm not going to watch the movie. They killed off the WRONG kid! Totally changed the ending too. Can't believe King was ok with the way they changed his book. If they had done it right, it would have left an opening for a sequel. I read the book long before the first movie came out. It was so sad and depressing I almost didn't finish it.

I hate the book and the movie especially because it got the wendigo all wrong, it can't curse land to reincarnate people. The wendigo is just a starving creature that eats human flesh constantly and that cause others to do the same which then causes them to become wendigos. Some things like causing grief is correct but not reserrections and curses.

What's there to explain? The family got the happy ending: D
Looking forward to the sequel sitcom: Raised By Zambies, following Gage as an angsty living teenager arguing with his dead dad who wants him to eat the brain of a nice girl, but Gage, the silly boy, wants to take her on a date and, like, kiss her and stuff. Oh, you!

One of my favorite Stephan king books. Didn't much care for this movie. Think I'll stop watching movies after i have read the book, it's always disappointing(to me)
Read the book, so good. Also one of Stephan kings shorter books. Most of his novels are massive, this one is a quick read for those that don't have the time.
