Latest GoT Episode Makes Sad Rotten Tomatoes History TheMrPangloss: As to Danaerys predicted as a to become a villain in hindsight as she always was. There was nothing exceptional in her in that sense in the context of Westeros - except for the King's Landing bloodbath which was against her nature (this must be outruled because it was pasted on her greatly benevolent character appealing to her mad father. And as to villainy in general in Westeros, even the goodie Ned Stark executed the man who tried to tell him about White Walkers, then Red Queen persuaded Stannis to murder his own daughter. Randall Tarly's execution did not differ from Mance's execution by Stannis, not to mention that Olenna Tyler poisoned Joffrey (we did not like Joffrey but it was a crime, not to mention all the disgusting deeds made by Tywin terrorising the Riverlands with his army and the Mountain and his daughter Cersei murdering late Robert's bastard children and blowing up the Great Sept by wildfire. Why is it that Danaerys was supposed to play much more fair than anybody else - and she did to her own disadvantage for a long time? The same rules of honor bound her like any high Noble person in Westeros and playing fair did not help her - and actually playing fair was her nature. She yoked her dragons into captivity when Drogon had burned alive a herd's daughter. That she snapped at King's Landing starting to burn alive all moving in the streets did not make any sense - it was like something that had been pasted onto her character which was typically symphathizing the poor and wretched. This was just too simple and hasty way to end the story - and storywise it was too simplistic and too drastic for she was after all more complex a character and also her relationships with the others were not following that simplistic patterns - there was a conflict, yes, but it did not always take violent forms. And frankly, it is amazing how ungrateful the others were after her decisive help and huge sacrifices for the better in the battle of Winterfell, as if having used her and her resources as long as she was useful and then just discarding her and giving her no credit of what happened. It is as if the writers, including the Author, had a key character in a story and did not handle the situation as to how deal with a key character - she could have been given a chance to become an ordinary human being building a better word while her title, her Dragon and the royal Targaryen line could have been gone as having no significance. She, on the other hand, was significant as a person and deserved no character assassination and no eventual execution.

Game of Thrones was murdered by the Corporation that already stole the Star Wars franchise; whether or not the fans of Westeros realize it.
D&D are going to be very busy working on the next (Disney produced) Star Wars trilogy persuent to their newly penned contract. And before Disney's cartoon-ink had a chance to dry, D&D tragically decided to sacrifice theit largely successful past in order to expedite their much more profitable future. The greatest televised story to ever exist in any lifetime has been forever derailed by the promise of future fortunes from the Corporation that is single-handedly absorbing every remaining aspect of iconic nostalgia like a hungry Wal-Mart devouring the heart of another struggling low-income area.
So remember that boys and girls; Game of Thrones was rushed out the door like an unfinished video game that will never receive its game-fixing DLC patch; and it all happened in favor of the almighty dollar dispassionately dispensed by the peculiar Floridian Mouse with the limitless pocketbook.
How's that for Goofy?
Shame. ..
Shame. ..

Daenerys Targaryen didn't go mad she mowed her enemy under in a war. Queen Daenerys won an overwhelming victory and she will rule Westeros. She is not insane. Daenerys is the greatest character in TV history and the show would be a bust without her. Destroying your enemy when you are at war doesn't make you insane. Especially, in a violent, ruthless vicious world of Ice & Fire. Queen Cersei caused those deaths using her people as human shields. Queen Dany wasn't going to keep stalling the attack while losing power. She did what she needed to do. The haters can have their heads on spikes. D&D haven't sold me on that crap. Everyone uses force so when Dany uses it she's insane? Sorry I'm not buying foolishness. Queen Dany had the power to win the GOT & she did. D&D using a plot device to stop the character from winning and its not working. Its still comes off as what it is plot armor.

How did people not see this disappointment coming as soon as Season 6 began? I will say that 2 great episodes ended season 6, but nothing to do with the horrible storylines throughout the season, just that they hired the right directors to do their jobs for them. And it was still ending book territory when they didn't need to create anything. So at the least, after watching season 7 as a whole, everyone should have been expecting a short, bland, uncreative, subpar ending with money thrown at it. For Christs sake, they spent the entire season before the final season catching a wight. Y'all were okay with this? With enough money anybody can polish the turd of a show they've turned GRR's masterpiece into. But in the end it will still be a turd.
Honestly, who had even okay expectations coming into Season 8?

Weve known for two years it will be only six episodes.
That is not a lot of time to wrap things up, and remember this is Game of Thrones; you were never going to get a happy ending.
Throughout the entire 8 seasons, weve seen characters that we all fall in love with, then, they end up dead.
This is nothing new! So why are people being surprised?
I wonder if things would have been different if the books were out and the show followed them - with the exact same ending? Probably less hissy fits.
Remember, George told the producers what the ending would be, In case he died. I can not see them moving too far from that. So my money is on when published, it will be the same outcome.
After all, you win or you die in this game of thrones.

Are we sure these writers weren't on duty at Chernobyl? ( how appropriate HBO should have an overlapping miniseries on that event) because they seems to have done the same thing with GOTS. They took a perfectly GOTS and melted it down into an entertainment nightmare for the whole world ( how ironic so many people got burned up inthis one too. Come to think of it, that kind of iinsults the Chernobyl operators. Or maybe hey wored on that film Heavens gate back in 1980. After this they should leave the writing to G. R. R. Martin, or maybe just some graffiti artist, who could both do a better job. I will be hard pressed to commit my time and monet to watching anything the write in the future

The whole theme of Martin's writing is that there is no character that is solely good or solely evil. I think the last episode was amazing. It was the most accurate to how the books will turn out. My problem were the other episodes leading up to this.
Also, if you think this was just a random decision, look back at when dany went into the house of the undying. She walked through a destroyed iron throne room while it was snowing. In reality, that was not snow, but ash. Winter did come for kings landing, just not the way everyone thought it would. Classic Martin writing

Several of the actors demanded more money. A million an episode to be exact. The writers are not going to make the story longer because they can't afford spending 10 million or more paying their greedy actors each episode they make. It sucks but they were making a lot of money already no one needs a million for an episode that's way too much money. And so the actors are to blame because it's true they make the show but so does the cgi, music, art and so much more. That's just greed honestly and that's why it's rushed

Although I do believe D&D rushed the final season, are not good writers unless they already have a book to follow and couldnt wait to get to Star Wars, I think this is show fans being upset that the ending is not what they were expecting. That said there are indications of the final conclusions of the characters in the books heading to a similar end. I just think that it will be better written by George R. R. Martin and be more satisfying. cant wait to see how this ending REALLY comes to fruition!

Did D&D plan to ruin this amazing show, fast pacing it just so they could go on to doing other things (like Star Wars? No wonder this season only had six episodes and didn't sum up EVERYTHING, including the Night King's arc or anything else important that they threw out the window. Wasn't the Long Night apocalypse a better story arc then fighting for who gets to sit on a throne? After killing the big threat, it's BACK to plotting and scheming with everybody. >: (
