I do have a big gripe about a few things in the show. The timeline in season 3 is completely unbelieveable (yeah yeah, I know. Realism in a monster series, right.
You are telling me that Aleksei got 1 year to make the key work. In that time, they have to find the rift existing under Hawkins, go there, buy up land, then build the Star Court Mall AND a huge underground facility. All this with soviet manpower smuggled into the US, and without anyone noticing. Come on.
Also I really dislike how the kids are apparently superkids (they tend to be when primary protagenists in movies/tv shows. Not only are they super smart (all of them, and they also seem to be completely unaffected by the horrible things they encounter. Mere months after they are happy and seemingly just see it all as an adventure. Will should be traumatized in an institution by season 3, considering what he had to go throughh in the first 2 seasons, he even got branded with a red-hot poker by his own mom, and show no effects of this 5 minutes later when the Mind Flayer leaves him. But his biggest issue in season 3, is the fact that the others don't want to play DnD with him anymore as they have girl friends.
I hope for a much betetr season 4, but I think it will just follow the same pattern. Everyone is doing their own seperate stories, that just happen to end together in the end. That is how the first three seasosn went.
And of course Hopper is the american in the prison.

The american is not Hopper. I think next season will take place in a big city paying homage to the many other 80s horror and sci-fi franchises that also had installments that moved to the city such as Poltergeist 3 or Jason takes Manhatten or Predator 2 and a number of others. That way they can bring back Kali and her gang. That way when they ultimately have to return to Hawkins in the final season it will feel like a big deal and bring them all back to the beginning which almost every horror/sci-fi franchises has done in their final movies.

I really really hope Hopper is still alive! I just love his character and was so sad to see that he died! If he lives than I would go nuts!
