But this would work for perfectly well for some reasons:
1st: Since Endgame ended in 2023, the timeline for excisting heroes is completely irrelevant currently, since Thor 4 and probably even GotG 3 are released before 2023.
2nd: Both stories could stand for their own and mostly refer to Endgame. With this solution, Thor 4 can't make any huge references to GotG 3 and vice versa. Both films would have Endgame as a starting point.
3rd: There would be no reduction of audience. It is possible, that some people wouldn't go into GotG 3, if they don't like Thor (and vice versa. But in this scenario, both groups could watch the movie without needing to watch the other one.
4th: Fans of the MCU overall could be pleased by rather sublte references which make sense in the movie for itself, but even more if you've watched the other movie, too.
5th: Wouldn't it be cool to have GotG 3 as an inbetweenquel? For example imo both Star Wars stories (Rogue One and Solo) are two of the best Star Wars movies. Mostly because they give you insight in a time period of series, which was kept in the dark. Such inbetweenquels are hard to make, since not only their beginning, but also their end is already known, so the creatives have to come up with even more interesting ways to connect those two points.

There isn't a big enough character left in the MCU so they cant afford to lose Thor until Phase 6. Panther, Cap Marvel, is not at the Cap or Ironman level yet. Doctor Strange & Spiderman is close but Strange's arch is individualistic and has yet to become tied to any other character & Spiderman is owned by Disney so it is hard for them to depend on the webhead as they move into his trilogy. So what they need to do is buildup what they got and add more who are resounding hits with either Fantastic 4, Shang Chi, or Blade. My money is all on Reed Richards because can be a substitute for Stark & Rogers as he combines both Caps level-headedness, and Tony's genius which can really bring the universe together. Sadly a lot of the other characters are more solo centric due to either their persona and powerset so they either need new characters or retool them as they did with Thor. That said if they ax him in phase 4 just to push the uber feminist agenda as they did with Danvers by tapping in the problematic Portman to be the new Thor then the MCU will suffer immensely.

Its going to be a massive flop, just like the comics were, as will Valkyrie's movie and pretty much all of the Phase 4 films other than possibly the Black Widow one ( which fans have been asking for since Iron Man 2, but noooo we hate female characters dontcha know )and Dr. Strange one. The MCU came to an end with Endgame, everything after it is just going to be pandering fanfic that they'll insist is going to do great right until it bombs and then will blame those nasty nasty toxic male fans for their own failure.

It would be good to see the two Chrises as workout partners in Love And Thunder, and, technically, if our Thor loses his status and becomes simply Odenson trom here on, then he could have a new trilogy under that name, plus three more in any future Avengers, assuming that that franchise survives the loss of three of its main characters, Tony, Steve, and Natasha, and the burden of its new excess luggage, Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel.

Thor love and thunder wont be Hemsworth last movie he will be the 1 avenger out of the og 6 to prolly make it all the way to the end of the mcu in like 20 or 30 years from now bc not only is his actual character asgardian so his life expectancy is super high compared to eveyone he also doesnt have much to lean on outside of mcu he isnt as renowned of an actor as Scarlett or Ruffolo or RDJ or Renner or Evans

I did research on Thor 4 and read up on pieces of the script. Jane Foster won't become the new Thor until the end of the movie. The way she becomes the new Thor is almost similar to how Cap picked up Mjholnir she's becomes worthy by the end of the movie and saves Valkyrie. Thor dies but the script didn't say how, I believe he possibly sacrifices himself. Oh and Beta Ray Bill is in the movie too.

Does he live the rest of his days in peace on some far away world? Does he become king of another civilization? Endgame already shat on Thor atleast we could give him a sayisfying ending. Fat Thor was the best in Endgame. Relatable, Anxious, Depressed, PTSD. Thats the best part, lots of us have one or more of these in real life, nice to see that seen on big screen and it being ok because he was still WORTHY. Im sure his role in New flick will be limited but who knows. Maybe itll be a great shared movie

If the ban wagering foster is a one off cool. If they dont give her cancer like she had in the comics and it's nothing but the actress who jumped ship before the hype just to return and take the actor who has put in the work's role than Endgame will be my Endgame for later partaking in the viewing of the mcu.
