Horror Movies That Deserve A Remake David. : Event Horizon' - isn't it 'Solaris' [the USSR original] reimagined? NOW 'The Hunger although 'very interesting' in the movie veers sharply away from the Novel. Miriam and her line are an entirely different specie. they drain energy from humans, leaving a dead husk. NOTHING TO DO WITH 'CLASSIC' AMPIRES. and far more interesting. she reveals her actual shape [which is humanoid. but different and extremely to Sarah Roberts [Sarandon] before Sarah kills herself. Miriam survives. The Hunger suggests a science-fiction explanation for vampirism, that vampires are a species that bears a resemblance to humans. They are not immortal but do not age after reaching physical maturity and are extremely strong and difficult to kill. Miriam discovers that some vampire traits, such as prolonged youth, can be transmitted to humans. Strieber wrote two sequels to the novel: The Last Vampire in 2001 and Lilith's Dream: A Tale of the Vampire Life in 2003. ] Closer in concept to LifeForce.

Mom and I saw Event Horizon in theaters when I thought it was just a scifi. I was scared.
When it
Comes to The Gate it was a pretty awesome story, but I did like The Gate 2. I liked - was the friend Terry? I liked his careful set up of the protective circle, the pounding of the rocks and the granting of wishes just being the distraction of fulfilling the pieces necessary to bring back the Old Ones.
As another suggestion, I really liked Night Breed. The huge cemetery, the overgrowth of everything, it's a neat point to not know for sure on everything I liked it.
A George R Martin piece that is an anthology of some really awesome stories that could be made would be The Wild Card stories. Someone should remember to take a look at them.

Awesome video as you do. Battle Royal could be very fun and Event Horizon is one of my top 5 movies of all time. I remember seeing it in theater. I had to go to the rest room, got to the door to step out, looked back, and saw the unscrambled crew footage and the following Best lines in the movie. It is a true new original. Thanks for the video I was pleased and learned some stuff too. Best day & Best wishes to you & yours.

Looper, your compulsive peppering of your chosen ideology and personal politics into these videos, is becoming rather tiresome.
Telling the story, of a class of school children, in a totalitarian society, who are forced to fight to the death, until a lone survivor emerges. the films themes remain painfully relevant in modern America.
Dafuq are you talking about?

They should leave 'The Hunger' alone. It was fine, as is. And, the fact that it was 'of its time' doesn't necessarily mean that it absolutely 'must' be updated. In fact; remakes, sequels, prequels, ad nauseam, need to just stop. Hollywood needs more fresh inspiration - like what Guillermo del Toro, Robert Eggers and Jordan Peele are doing with horror.

I love to see a remake of The Monster Squad but even tho it will not happen because its just an amazing classic. If it does happen one day probably I wouldnt mind seeing Blumhouse making their own shared universe especially characters like Dracula, Wolf Man, Sea Monster, The Mummy, and Frankenstein including just a name of few.

I honestly couldn't care less if most of these were Remade. However, Event horizon and monster squad are untouchable. I know event horizon had its issues, in the final cut didn't live up to the original vision. But the casting was perfect, you will never get together A better group of actors.

I would actually like to see Creepshow remade. in animation. traditional style, not CGI. and each segment would be done in a visual style based upon the art of one of the the classic EC illustrators. Wally Wood, Bill Elder and Jack Davis, just to name a few.

Ahhhh, I remember The Hunger! Loved David Bowie, and was a fan of Susan Sarandon. I was bummed when Bowie wasnt in it very long. Wait, what? Rita Mae Brown? As in Sneaky Pie Brown? I love the Mrs. Murphy Mystery books!
