I wish George Lucas would have done the Thrawn Trilogy and have Mara Jade played by an unknown actress, and have her marry Luke at the end of the trilogy. I also would like to see Thrawn himself take over the Empire and finished where Darth Vader and Emperor Palpatine left off, I remembered reading the Dark Horse comic series and seeing the clone technology left over during the Clone Wars and trying to revive a new army or make it into a weapon against the Rebellion.

Yes, they are flawed, not good and far from perfect STAR WARS movie from your mind & imagination.

There should've been a new Jedi Order.
Luke and Leia should've been Jedi together, there should've been the rise of a new sith empire that would end in episode 9 with all the Jedi and Sith fighting one final battle.

All the skywalker are dead it's canon. The book containing about skywalkers after the return of the jedi are not canon now LOL, to make the book canon they should make a new book, or rename all the skywalkers to palpatines.

I hope that Disney went to the verge of bankruptcy and had to sold Lucas Films. And then and only then will ever the fans got to see The Star Wars that we wanted. But of course, most of the fans will be dead then.

I''d point out that technically, as far as I know we do not actually know Luke Skywalker had no kids in what is currently considered canon. only that no kids or relationships were mentioned.
