Emperor Palpatine's Plan In The Rise Of Skywalker Explained
video description
First Point: Ben Solo lives AS Ben Solo. The man he is supposed to be. The man his father died to save.
I would have saved Dark Rey for the final battle sequence. Not as a precursor to the Death Star wreckage duel. I would have had Palpatine possess Rey as a vessel. Then Ben Solo has to fight Dark Rey to save Light Rey. Like staking a vampire to save the soul of the turned human.
Ben Solo fights and kills Dark Rey. Light Rey returns. Palpatine's spirit tries to enter Ben Solo but is stopped and banished to the equivalent of Force Hell by the Force Ghosts of Anakin and Luke Skywalker, Ben Kenobi and Yoda.
Ben Solo and Rey get the happy ending that Anakin and Padme did not.
Alternate: An actual two-on-one duel between Palpatine, Ben and Rey. A call-back to the Jinn-Kenobi-Maul duel. Eventually Rey goes down, but her spirit remains hovering, watching the duel. Inspiring Ben to fight with a clear head and not give in to rage. Ben strikes down Palpatine, and uses his power in the Force to bring Rey back to life without dying, since they are a dyad. Two bodies, one soul.
The happy end is the same for Ben and Rey, with a public celabratory wedding to echo the private wedding of Anakin and Padme.
Sentimental, I know, but that's my take. Star Wars is a fairy tale set in space meant for kids.

He was basically crippled by Anakin Skywalker and had no other plan but to hope that it would work to transfer his spirit (the spirits of all the Sith) to a new host. He apparently was greedy and only wanted Rey, plus hated all Skywalkers since Anakin's betrayal - and so instead of using Ben Solo, which likely would've worked, he screwed up by insisting that it be his granddaughter Rey. He was angry that she rebelled against his plan, and seemed to have no idea that she'd be able to defeat him with two lightsabers and the help of all the Jedi of the past. His plan was pretty bad and ended the Sith. Similar to how Sauron in the Lord of the Rings couldn't imagine that anyone wouldn't want the ring for themselves, Darth Sidious seemed baffled each time someone didn't want to join him (Luke, Rey. He sits there ugly and evil as can be and can't understand why others wouldn't want to have what he has, like he just can't understand the desire to do good and love others.

Bringing back the Emperor is what saved this trilogy from the last two movies where The Force Awaken left more questions than answers & The Last Jedi that spent more time destroying everything from the first 6 movies than it was intended to. To all moviegoers whom have never spent the time as many Star Wars Legends (Hardcore/book reading) FANS have following Star Wars Expanded Universe over the past 4 decades. We are sorry this movie left you more questions again. For us Legends FANS this movie made a lot of sense. And the way it was presented now, meant ultimately, there will be more novels & games to come that will help everyone tie all the unresolved sub-plots created or brought back from Rise of Skywalkers. Overall these is a good movie. J. J. Abrams did a good job (at least from my own POV. Does any Legends Fans agree with me, or you think I have been Cloud with Judgement I have, the Dark Side is

For close to three decades, stories, movies and video games have provided multiple plots, story lines, etc. It was almost impossible to do a great Star Wars Sequel Trilogy. The ending had to be ambitious, the problem with this trilogy, had nothing to do with formulas. The problem with this Sequel Trilogy, is for the first time ever in Star Wars history, there was absolutely no character development. The overall story throughout Episode 7 through 9 did not revolve around Rey or Ren as much as it should, and in the end, everything just sort of felt like it was thrown together in the last minute.

I actually pity Palpatine. Its so unfair to re-surrect an iconic villain from the dead, only for few moments, and only to be killed again. And that too in a very silly way (The Jedi voices thing. Its also an injustice to Ian McDormind, the actor.
Instead I'd have loved it; If Episode 9's storyline would've progressed in Rian Jhonson's vision of - > Forgetting the past, once & for all, and moving forward.
Episode 9, in its current form, has become nothing more then a shallow, sanitized cash-pulling exercise.

It all would have worked out perfectly too, if only he had the foresight to kidnap. er. droid-nap R2D2 beforehand. I mean we already were shown that R2 confused down and up once, but he immediately was able to correct the error and indeed could tell which way up was. So if those shithead Star Destroyer pilots had access to R2 and his mystical ability to determine the correct direction of up, they might have been able to do something other than just sit there and be blown to bits.

There was a reason - funny, I took as Disney simply screwed up their original story when they killed off Snoopy in The Last Insult and the brain-trusts ) came up with the idea of just repurposing another character from the original and kill two birds with one plot device appease the Angry Fan Base and merchandise a dead character.
Can we stop already Its Over PR Rambos let this die its ignoble death and let us all move on from the Mouse Mess.

I think the war between the Resistance and Final Order should've been like Endgame. Leia, Rey, Finn, & Poe go back in time to the Republican and Rebellion time lines. Therefore, they recreate the Clones and Order 66, convince Vader, and the Jedi Order to fight along side them, then go back to the Resistance age and bring them all to the Great War.
Sorry if none of this makes sense. I just thought it was an awesome idea.

If Palpatine created SNOKE and SNOKE bridged their minds he would have known they were a Deity in the force
Also, where did he get the money for the entire FINAL ORDER FLEET plus all the followers where did they come from?
Also, if Rey is the chosen one then isnt all the trilogies a waste?
Finally, if Rey struck down Palpatine why didnt his spirit go into her as she said he would?
Plot HOLE

I thought it was a brilliant movie, 10% cheese but they nailed the story. it made me almost cry a few times. love finds a way no matter how evil it may seem, I liked it. very diverse but what the f was with the look at the Knights of Ren they looked really cool but did nothing what a waste of cool characters, there should be a movie of those characters. GREAT STORY.
