The Ending Of The Prestige Explained Rozita: I am surprised that so many believe Tesla had really created a machine which created clones. That would make it a science fiction which doesn't fit in with the rest of the script. Borden was so passionate and obsessed about magic that their very identity got fragmented into two (reference to the twins. Angier who wouldn't get his hands dirty initially ended losing his real self and got fragmented into many pieces. The implication is that he left no stone unturned to defeat his greatest rival, Borden. It is from Angier's point of view that we see the so called cloning feature of the machine. He is a magician. Why would you believe him? The fact that magicians are not believed makes them successful. This has been shown clearly in the movie. The movie is high on symbolism. We are called to read between the lines.

Explain this Looper:
Ricky Jay plays Milton the original magician whose trick ends up killing Angier's wife, yet he also plays the magicians Herman and Albert Pinchbeck in the X-files episode The Amazing Maleeni, which also has a plot that revolves around a double and the death of one of them. Coincidence, deliberate or maybe he's a real magician?
(I feel like I'm the only one who noticed that. but probably not)

The standard for filmmaking and storytelling! My all time top favorite.
Anyone can make Marvel/007/X-Men etc. movies. ONLY Nolan can make a Prestige. It is unfortunate, this movie gets overlooked amidst Inception/Interstellar/Dark Knight Trilogy. All Nolan films are class apart. no doubt. But this one is, his craftsman ship at its best.

I think there is no dupe machine. The ultimate trick is making the audience believe that there is one.
He was using the double until Bale decided to go backstage where and when he killed the double.
At the last scene you can clearly see only one body in the tanks while the others have some misaligned shadows.

this video misses an obvious detail about sarah's pregnancy announcement which is even shown in the video: when borden says we should've told fallon it's because the brother acting as fallon at the time was the father. after all, this was the borden who didn't mean it today when he told sarah he loved her.

U explained the whole movie for that one can see the movie the trick was in the last frame of the movie. The last pan to the angiea's body in the glass and there were many glasses in there, which raises the question that did the real angiea died or the double. Is the real angiea still alive?

Yea. I loved this movie till Tesla Clones. After that I was so upset. It couldve been a perfect movie had he just kept it real and an illusion. The science fiction cheapens the story and honestly it just an easy out! So many great things for a bad payout.

I dont get it, whats there to explain? One had brother, other had copy machine. I dont think it could be explained more after brother reveal. Like how he didnt know which knot was tied because he didnt tie it.

Angier only truly needed to do the cloning trick ONCE. He could have lived with a clone, but no. He wouldn't. The original Angier was shot by the clone the first time he did it.

This is such a dumb premise. You can clone people But the best use of it is to stage a magic show. A sheep is smarter than the writer and director.
