I literally loved Christy in Mom, she was a immensely awesome actor and character in the show and she was my all time favourite character in the show as well.
I honestly didn't want her to leave the show cause she was completely funny and a totally immense character.
They should have at least gave her one last episode in the show as a goodbye and farewell episode.
I do one thing for sure that the show will still be great and all but it definitely will not be the same without Christy.

I love Mom but I would have left the show too; Anna was billed as the star in season 1 then in later seasons write out both of her kids an ex-husband and never gave her a love interest (that stays) so if I was an actress I would feel under used and leave the show if I got a better offer. Cause I like Anna and hope she does well and comes back for at least the last episode of Mom (whenever that maybe)

Mom was a success due to the supporting cast. The premise of the show took a different direction with her children no longer playing roles in the show. The Christy character no longer was a mother to her young son and focused on her career. The show is better off without Anna Faris. No great loss.
