This Signature Line Was Totally Improvised By Leto In Snyder Cut

Zack Snyder's Justice League is everything fans who have been asking for the Snyder Cut for the last few years could've hoped for. It has a much darker tone than the 2017 version, culminating in Superman donning his iconic Black Suit. We actually get a chance to see Darkseid as opposed to merely hearing Steppenwolf mention him, and best of all, we get a better look at the Knightmare reality that was first introduced in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Snyder took it even further, actually going so far as to film an additional scene for his cut that showcased another Knightmare sequence in which Batman has a philosophical conversation with the Joker about the destruction they caused before the timeline was ruined by Darkseid. We may not get a chance to see the two comic book titans fight or potentially even work together, but Jared Leto left his mark on his version of the character with one noteworthy line that broke the internet when the Justice League trailer came out. The whole idea behind the Snyder Cut is that it's something brought to fruition for the fans. They've been asking to see a movie closer to Snyder's original vision for years, and now that it's actually available on HBO Max, it only makes sense for the film to give those fans a little something extra. As if seeing Jared Leto's Joker one more time to actually have a conversation with Batman wasn't enough, there's some bonus fan service during the trailer for Zack Snyder's Justice League when the character says, We live in a society. For those of you who don't go on social media all that often, the phrase We live in a society became a meme that gained prevalence around the time of 2019's Joker. The origin of the phrase can be traced back all the way to Seinfeld where George exclaimed, But over the years, it's been associated with the Joker both in earnest and satirical manners to talk about perceived slights in the larger culture that are enough to radicalize people into becoming Joker-esque. In an effort as it would seem to tap into the zeitgeist, and considering Snyder filmed Justice League's Knightmare scene in 2020, it was easy enough for Leto to slip it in. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Snyder mentions how he wrote a script for the scene after getting some ideas for what he wanted out of these versions of Batman and the Joker, but the director does reveal, We went back and forth with it. And I'll give Jared [Leto] credit for that little ad-lib there. Hype was already through the roof for the Snyder Cut, but that line in the trailer just confirmed that this movie was for all of the comic book fans almost as a way to reward them for being so vocal online. But some were still displeased. While the line is fun for fans, it doesn't really make a whole lot of sense in context. These characters are living in a post-apocalyptic hell-scape ruled over by one of DC's New Gods. What society is there to be found with political and bureaucratic functions? As it turns out, anyone who watched the full four hours of the movie hoping to hear the meme was sadly disappointed when the Joker didn't actually say it. As with every minor inconvenience in life, people took to Twitter to voice their displeasure at being duped. On twitter user wrote, I'm shocked. SHOCKED. that joker doesn't actually say 'we live in a society' in justice league. The deception has even turned into a meme in its own right with another user writing, I haven't watched Justice League but Snyder having Joker say 'we live in a society' in the trailer and then making people sit through a 4 hour movie only to [realize] Joker never actually says it was pure genius. To all of this, we suppose you could say, We live in a society in which trailers tell you one thing, but the movie gives you another. Even without the line in the movie, there was still plenty for fans to satisfy their appetites for superhero action, and while this is likely the last time we'll get to see Jared Leto with green hair and white makeup or, at least doing so as that DCEU character he at least gave us one final scene to close out his run as the Joker. Jose: I like Jared Leto but i really think he should let go of being Joker. He tried his best again for the Snyder cut but for me he still did not make justice.

I DO NOT like Jared Lito.
I DO NOT like his acting.
I DO NOT like the stories I hear about him.
I DO NOT like that he slithered back into the role of Joker.
That being said.
I have to be honest. I dont think he was the best Joker.
But, he was the Fukking CREEPIEST Joker of all.
His previous attempt was idiotic, cringey and he tried way too hard to go off the beaten path.
But, I cannot tell a lie. In Zack's JL Post Scene, I WANTED to ask questions.
Why would he possibly be there, then?
Who came up with the CREEPIEST, yet on-target Joker look of all?
What does he have to offer? Because Batman would not have Joker with him, going up against Supes and DS, unless there was a very good reason. What does he bring to the table.
Why did Bats treat him like an Insane Brother with tourette's syndrome. Seeming to want to kill Joker, but also trying to be patient with him and also pittying him.
How would Supes desl with Joker in that scene? But, also, how would Joker deal with Supes?
Because, the biggest thing Joker has in common with Batman, is that, although the are both unenhanced, they can both be threats to high-level characters.
You cant count them out.
So, Damn You Zack Snyder!
You have forced me to notice Jared Lito's Joker.

Leto clearly watched the count from Sesame Street and modified the laugh. Mixed with a creaking door.
That aside, I was actually engaged to what he was saying and how he delivered his lines to Batman. The whole encounter was interesting. Why send a boy wonder to do a mans job. a truce, Bruce. his little card trick and Batman dropping the f bomb. jokers hand trembling after Batman mentions Harley Quinn dying in his arms and how her last wish was for Batman to kill joker.
The whole scene was just intense and interesting. The ONLY thing out of place was the laugh. The laugh makes me laugh. It doesn t make me excited like YEAH now THATS a joker laugh. It just immediately screams modified count from Sesame Street.
The thing about the joker laugh is there has to be different variations of it to invoke different moods. A diabolical laugh, a hysterical laugh, etc.
So overall, this Leto Joker was better than Suicide Squad Joker, but both Jokers can t touch the Joaquin Phoenix or Ledger Joker. Those 2 are the cream of the crop when it comes to PORTRAYAL.
When it comes to the jokers voice? Mark Hamill. Hands down. He has the variations on the laugh to a tee.

This would be better if they actually got the whole quote. It's not We live in a society. It's We live in a society where honor is a distant memory. Which actually DOES make sense for the Knightmare world. Even George Costanza had more to say after his We live in a society clip. The meme's are funny because everyone changes the ending of what comes after We live in a society, not because that's the whole quote. Sheesh.

4 hrs of snyder cut. Nothing to show for really. 2 minutes of Mortal Kombat trailer. Scorpion vs Sub-Zero. Snyder-cut what again? Sorry DCU. MCU is on Avengers what #? Justice league still figuring out first movie. Crap storm. Batman is my fav. Just not a Affleck. The DCU in 2021 is the old MK movie in 1995. Needed to be scrapped.

I hope that the Snyder Verse continues in HBO Max (With Shazam still canon) mainly because I would want to see where the entire Darkseid Making the world Post apocalyptic, half the heroes are dead and Superman is evil Scenario

Leto joker was weird he sounded like Jim Carey at times. I'm not fussed about his laugh, yes it's not like the joker but it's a post apocalyptic world, I assumed he was portraying a tired, weak and broken from the war

This nightmare sequence is the angle they have. It sets them apart. Why do the multiverse when they can travel the inevitable. They need to invest in the paradox!

My favourite part is when batman gets triggered by joker mentioning Robins death then joker getting triggered by batman mentioning harleys death.
