If you thought Ava's special effects were cool, just wait until you hear about her real life Tinder account. Ex Machina messes with your mind more than you realize. Marwan: One of the best AI based sci-fi movies I've ever seen (after the Matrix. It opens the discussion about the many possibilities for AI evolution and the scary scenarios we may encounter as this unfolds. The ethical dilemma on both the human and the machine ends was played out nicely in the movie; the only other movie that made a good point about that was Blade Runner and Blade Runner 2049. I can't wait for the latter's sequel.

here is the one million dollars question.
if we made an IA with the same complexity of a human brain, would that IA be considered sentient? could we find any difference between that IA or a human brain inside a robot body?
personally, I believe that there won't be any difference. our brain is just a very complex IA that can be replicated (even if we haven't found how to do it yet)

This movie came out and didn't do well at the box office. Same thing with Annihilation. And yet, we constantly complain there are no good movies to see anymore. Try supporting these smaller films, rather than wasting your money on the next 200 million blockbuster. Or, at least, see both. These are the kinds of films that we need to support.

This has been my favorite movie from the moment I finished it the first time. I watched it the very next day and almost yearly since. Something about this move really struck a chord with me. I had no idea what this movie was about but had time to kill that day and it was a new release. Very closely missed this absolute masterpiece.

With all the praise given to the film, people seem to ignore the side plot in which Nathan built female-looking droids and forced them to perform self-diminishing deeds down to the deepest levels of depravity - a notion that almost made me quit the film midway through.

No screen screen is why this turned out so well.
To compare - The LOTR trilogy, they didn't use green green. They made all the sets and also all the armor etc themself.
But in The Hobbit, almost everything was green screen and it kind of ruined a lot tbh.

The fact that film executives aren't familiar with the phrase Deus Ex Machina tells you how far removed Hollywood financiers are from the Art & history of storytelling.
Also why most recent & current films suck.

Fun Fact: the music that plays when Ava kills Nate is Joker (It's. G x NEVR Remix by Bosco, but it's not credited. The song came out two years before the movie!
