I for one have a view that the moment you change the main actor of the movie the odds of you getting that momentum back is not likely. In truth the reason why Marvel did so well is because of Iron Man actor Robert Downey Jr. If at any time they changed this actor the MCU would have lost its momentum. With out a stable actor playing the lead part of the movie the movie falls apart. In truth a few of MCU bad choices of directions has done good still mostly because of the momentum of the actors they bring in. In truth the build up of the actors foundation is from a strong story base but the support of the known actor of the other movies to build on. DC movies has an issue that deals with keeping the actors. In truth the Justice League would have done better if
They decided to make movies for the new actor of Flash. They should have given Cyborg a movie as well. The actor Jason Momoa should have had his own movie before the Justice League was even setup. The new Batman Ben Affleck should have had his own Batman movie about what happened to Robbin. I had no issue with the actor yet hist story was just thrown in a pissed of Batman that dished out justice and killed. That is a far cry from what we seen before. It is as if many people had there hands in the creation of this movie and nothing lined up with anything as a cohesive story. The movie in truth tried to put way to much in one movie like MCU had with Avengers. Yet with there movie you had a few movies based on each story and it was a fare more cohesive story base than DC seems to know how to do. In truth If they decide to drop Henry Cavill is true I will have to drop out of watching any more DC stuff. I was not on the fence when it came to Robert Pattinson as Batman. Not because he would be a bad actor for the part but if this is DC idea of the multiverse batman idea they really suck at it. Not only do I not see it but I can't see this direction would even work. Even MCU has created many ways out but the key they do is cast there actors for not just one movie but a real direction for many movies to come. They use the same actors. Then when the say side kick is replaced like War Machine actor changed it was at the start and the change did not really effect the main actor who was in 95% of the movie.
So if anything I think DC is being managed by a lot of ideas but seems to have no management that knows what they are doing. In some cases I see they in most cases make the project fail by dumb choices. It use to be a movie was an extension of the comics or TV shows. DC can't even suggest this on there movies as they don't link. I see nothing on this view that would get me into watching any more of the DC movies. I do like the idea and the characters. I just don't think DC knows how to show there stories. I am very disappointed.

I'm fatigued and seriously over the ongoing and embarrassing Warner Bros/ DC disaster, as a major Superman fan since Christopher Reeve proved to me as a child that a man could fly, I never thought they'd be a worthy successor in this role until Henry came along, he's been perfectly cast, and just like millions of movie goers and fans alike I was ecstatic to see Henry return in Black Adam, which by the way is a pretty darn good superhero movie, we're all now shattered to find out that Henry isn't returning, WHAT A HOT MESS and quite frankly this is unforgivable.
What a farce, speaking of farces, who the heck hired Gunn in this very important role, when I first heard that the guy that directed those nonsense Suicide Squad films was elevated to such a senior position in DC I was flabbergasted. and the current appalling circumstances prove I was right to feel that way.
Taking care of the fans and their reasonable expectations to make great future DC films brilliant & financially successful isn't in this Gunn person's mind or ability, and why the heck has he decided to make the future Superman character younger, what's the point, removing Henry is a big mistake, just keep Henry and at some point introduce his super-son, it's not rocket science, I'd help DC write all future DC films whilst maintaining a similar theme to that of Snyder's although less dark and a little more lollipop to please the masses which doesn't mean DC needs to be more like Marvel, WE NEED CONSISTENCY PEOPLE. IDK, I'm so over this and I'm afraid that many, many fans have lost confidence in Warner Bros and DC who have not learned a lesson, by the way I'd also like to see Black Adam in a sequel, Mr. Johnson's portrayal of this anti-hero was pretty good.
DC have popular actors portraying the greatest superhero's known and they just don't know what to do with them, you have to wonder are all the executives incompetent or is someone sabotaging DC.
Anyway my initial thoughts a few weeks ago were DUMP GUNN, now I'm sure of it.

zaslov wants the establised actors out. he and gun made up a 10 yr plan, likely culminating in an equivalent of infinity war/endgame superheroe collaboration
so they figure lets reboot the whole lot and get younger actors less known and cheaper. that when getting to the end of the 10yr plan are at the right age.
cavill (one of my fav actors) is 40+ in 10 yrs he is 50+ so they decided to not use him. start new.
they could do a cavill movie superman side by side by a young superman movie as they now wish to make but they likely fear cavills superman would make their young superman/ cub reporter
look blant and it would detract from their movie and 10yr plan.
now i do understand their reasoning. they want to start with lower cost super hero movies that fit their plan and cavil, momoa, affleck, gadot are expensive and will eb too old in 10 yrs.
what i dont understand is that warner knew zaslov and gun were planning tis as they knew about the youngsuperman script AND a build up to 10 yr plan yet told cavill to announce his return as superman.
cavill was in the talks for months over this, left witcher (i know he had other reasons too but work wise he left a job for superman) and then when everyone is exited for his return they dump him.
He could and should sue but being the gentleman he is and the fact he would be blacklisted after wold hurt his career he wont.
imho. though i get their plan and reasoning of rebuilding dc on a budget hoping it catches on making the budget bigger each movie they bring out. people are not waiting for yet another reboot another origin story and a waiting time for minimum 4 to 5 years untill we see the superheroes back at their right adult, full potential age doing awesome shit.
people also wont like going to see aquaman, or flash movie if we know its no longer canon and one offs to be killed after
so its shit to do to cavill, and its shit to do to their fanbase and it will have repercussions for tem in that people wont go see their reboot movies

Snyderverse fans need to finally shut up, so tired of their crap. Gunn gonna FIX the DC universe and they can just go watch something else, we don't want to hear their crap anymore. Worst take on superman ever, worst storylines EVER in DC and worst decision made. Super happy Gunn is going to finnaly make GOOD source material driven movies with the right director /actors for the job. Momoa as LOBO rumor has me crazy excited. God I am sooo sick of snyderverse toxic fanbase, please stop making it sound like they are anything but toxic and understand they are not real fans of comic books and just really. REALLY loud and annoying.

Bruh. we don t need nothing about an earlier superman nor that old fluff superman theme. Ppl just can t wrap their heads around a more realistic superman. Hans zimmer s theme alone was apart of the reason i watch man of steel numerous times. You think if superman were real and there is an equally powerful humanoid alien threat out there, buildings wouldn t be toppled and people won t be killed? Think again. That s why i loved man of steel. I m signing this as well. Henry cavil as superman is like daniel craig as bond.

Thanks to toxic DC fans' crying and moaning about MOS, BVS, & JL WB wasted the past 10 years from 2013 to present on not focusing on Henry Cavill's Superman so now his window of opportunity has closed! I enjoyed his work and wish him luck in the future! As a James Bond fan, I hope he gets that role. He may have aged out of Superman, but his is the perfect age to be our next Bond! James Bond! And, Marvel needs to sign him immediately. Kick dust in the faces of WB and let them know that they screwed up big time!

Maybe we should give James Gunn and Peter Safran the time they need to build a successful movie universe. I m also a massive fan of Henry Cavill s Superman, but it s also fair to say that the DCEU is all over the place. Starting over might ultimately be the best choice for both WB and the fans. It s totally understandable that most of the fans are angry, but perhaps this sacrifice will lead to great things in return. And who knows, maybe Henry will play a different DC character

he is 39, gunn didn't say he will not be returning as superman, but the clock is ticking, gunn has about 2-3 years to make his young superman intro to dc universe, cavill will be 42 and he has to be able to build a DC universe till then. in 2008 downey jr became ironman, at age 43 and his last appearancein endgame he was 54, sooo there is some time. Richard Madden its good for superman, and he's 3 years younger than cavill.

Nobody wants to see younger Superman or comedy Sups for that matter. Cavill is physically as close to Sups as possible and nobody is going to top that.
Recasting Superman is bad enough on its own, people forgetting they are replacing Momoa as well. He legit breathed the life in that dead character and was a commercial hit too. James Gunn will probably ruin everything and it's too late to salvage anything then.

Henry was born to play Superman period. However at this point, he should not return to DC even if they beg or offer him a lump some of money. He needs to have some pride and know his worth. There s plenty of other roles that would kill to have him! We all know DC is a trash company and will continue to fall to the bottom. There s absolutely no way they will reach the level of Marvel.

I don't defend James Gunn, nor the new regime, I'm a snyderverse fan and DC comics fan, I'm disappointed with what's been happening, we called for ZSJL, we had it, but now it's time to let go and move on, let's give them a chance and see what's going to happen, sadly the majority is vocal on social media, not in theaters. And only those who like pirated stuff are complaining.

A good middle ground could be is to offer Cavill a self contained franchise like the one Pattinson has as Batman. Perhaps try to get Christopher McQuarrie on board as director since he was interested in making Superman films with Cavill after working on MI6 with him. He couldn t come to an agreement with the old WB but there s always trying again with the new management.

Give the new Superman a chance. Don't forget the Christopher Reeve was an unknown actor before he become Superman. Also, at the time a lot of people was dissing Henry Cavil as Superman because they are using a Brit to play the American icon, and now you guys loved him as Superman. Let just see who they going to cast as Superman before we go ranting.

He wants a take on Superman s younger years. Wow, Gunn must be a genius to come up with something so original as a Superman origin story. What s his next epic move for WB? I know, a talking rabbit that eats a carrot and says, What s up, doc? , and occasionally dresses in drag to befuddle a hunter. As Daffy would say, You re Dethpicable!
