Ummmmmm, they don't make him a bigger bed because it's a FICTIONAL COMEDY. If you can't suspend your belief of reality for a silly FICTIONAL COMEDY like Elf, then you're missing the entire point of such movies. Did Looper not watch the movie? Santa's sleigh is powered by belief, which is only just able to fly on Christmas Eve. Not enough belief to power the sleigh on any other day.
