Blue Beetle might just be the win that the DC film franchise has been waiting for. Here's what Twitter is saying about the newest (and bluest) superhero film in theaters. looper: I saw this movie bout even an hour ago like a couple of minutes I cried this movie I loved the way it portrayed community and family I did cry like three times. So glad I have a Latino super hero I actually can relate to in some ways CANT wait see more movies

In the Blue Beetle film when the step daughter Jenny steals the pass card key from the scientist who is going to the bathroom to break into the room that holds the scarab beetle alien artifact, how did the scientist get back in the room again without his pass card? How did the 70 year old grandmother Nana pick up and carry a gatling gun and mow down security guards like the one that Jesse Ventura carried in the first Predator movie without experiencing weight or encumbrance issues at her age? Yet at the end of the movie she has trouble getting up and needs help from other family members to get back on her feet after planting a cactus plant in a pot on the ground. Continuity is off. How did George Lopez's character who is supposedly a tech genius build a electronic jamming device and know how to fly and operate all the gadgetry on the beetle shaped jet aircraft all of a sudden with no training or previous experience? Yet he can't get a job to help pay and save the house they are living in despite his advanced knowledge and high end skill set. The grandma flies the jet too BTW? How did Jaime get out of the high tech lobby that has security camera's everywhere when Jenny hands him the box with the scarab beetle in it and nobody stops or sees him casually walking out the door? Susan Sarandon's villainous character Victoria Kord is a one dimensional villain with nothing exceptional or interesting about her background. Weak writing and script.

This movie isn't that good or that bad, if ur Hispanic/Latino u will be laughing hard
As a Mexican American kid I always wanted to see a Mexican super hero now that I'm old this movie wasn't good but the fresh represent of Hispanic and Hispanic culture to even the sound tracks were it right spots, if this is a DCU movie then it's a good start, showing another hero from DC that story hasn't been told yet, I mean yes they referenced flash batman and super man, so that tells me they have those heroes in that universe, and it's cool that DC didn't push a new superman movie first they putting characters I haven't seen in the big screen
Which is the right way to do it

That was the WORST superhero and DCU film I have ever seen. It's as if this director saw the original Justice League and said Hold my cerveza!
Acting sucked. Plot sucked. SFX sucked. And George Lopez and whoever played the fat sister were insufferable. I mean they literally had me leaving the theater before it was halfway done.
Two thumbs way, way down on this one. I sincerely hope James Gunn does a complete remake and recast of this bomb.

I loved it. Finaly a Latino super hero. Mexicans had chapulin colorado for ages. And a plus that the director is Puerto Rican. Also it s about family. So it s going to be like the fast and the furious there going to be like 10 of this movie.

You're all on Copium, this is obviously a paid video, only cherry picking the very few good comments about this film. This film has bad pacing, believability, character development, shocking cgi, and the wrong balance in general.

James Gunn is literally doing good for DC, yet people are still tribalistic and like just because you worked at Marvel doesn't mean it'll work here. Try that in a small town and see how far you make it down the road.

Bug fighting style is a rip off Spider-Man in endgame kill mood

Yeah I do not really care for the movie theater experience. I have a beefy tv and sound system to watch things better at home with the people I find tolerable that can shut the hell up during a movie.
reply

Well I suppose now I have to watch it. One very nice thing is it isn't another take on Batman or Superman, it's a character not a lot of people already know, so it can feel fresh.
reply

all what this video is this movie is good because Latino this and Latino that no one even is talking about the story or the action. just it being inclusive. done with this shit
reply

WHAT? you guys at looper are smoking crack. most of the reviewers who ARENT SHILLS, so it's boring and full of cliches. you guys are obviously part of the shill mindset.
reply

I really liked the movie, it's just a fun adventure, sure it has problems and has pretty mediocre and kind of forced villains, but overall it was naughty fun
reply

Twitter is garbage. This is another inclusivity oriented movie. I am not interested. Latino babes, awesome! Latino moral education, sucks!
reply

Dude, this movie bombed at the box office. Twitter isn t holding back? You mean X? This sounds like cheap damage control. Who s blue beetle?
reply

I liked it near the end, Jaime reyes is a cool character but some of his family is annoying throughout the movie, especially the sister
