I never thought that Autumn Sonata by Ingmar Bergman starring Liv Ullmann and Ingrid Bergman will be included in this countdown since it is not really that popular here in the US (also I was not expecting that WatchMojo or MissMojo would know this film or appreciate it, so seeing this on the top spot really warmed my heart because it is one of my favorite film of all time. Thank ypu MissMojo. :D

The fact that Stella Dallas (1937) was not even given an honorable mention is distressing! IT'S ONE OF THE MOST COMPLEX MOTHER/DAUGHTER FILMS, ESPECIALLY FOR ITS TIME! It could be argued that it should be in the top 3 of this list MsMojo redo this list please!

I would like to point out that Laurie Metcalf in Lady Bird also voiced some animated moms in films as well, which include Andy's mom in the Toy Story franchise and Sarah Hawkins in Treasure Planet.

I wish that Pieces of April was included. It is such an overlooked film that has a complex and interesting mother-daughter dynamic at the heart of it. Also, Patricia Clarkson's performance is amazing!

Autumn Sonata is beautiful, I mean, that was Ingrid Bergman and Ingmar Bergman at their best in that. Liv Ullmann was great as always, even if Persona and Face To Face have her better performances.
