Or how about something older:

Of course, it would be unfair to include so many movie theme songs like Heart Will Go On (Titanic, How do I Live Without You (Con Air, There You'll Be (Pearl Harbour, etc because of the advantage they have being connected to the emotion of the movie. But it would be equally unfair not to mention them at all.
So many alternatives to the featured list that I find it hard to accept that these are the Top 10. The fact that they are predominantly pop songs is also an issue for me because pop is only one of a myriad of genres and all of them have the ability to create a cry song.

A song about facing death with a smile of pride in your accomplishments and looking back with power and content is how anyone would like to go out yet it is about remembering at least one ancestor who played this at a funeral

It's not a very mainstream song, but I wanted to give a shout-out to the song Beautiful Child, written and sung by Pauley Perrette, who played Abby Sciuto on NCIS. She wrote it after her friend's little brother committed suicide, so while its root lies in tragedy, it has an absolutely beautiful message of hope, in particular for the LGBT+ community but it's great for absolutely anyone who's felt worthless or unloved. Gets me tearing up every time.
