While Im sure there were some ignorant individuals who complained about a black Iris West. what a simultaneous ignorant commentary on the matter. Backlash because they didnt want to see a diverse casting. Nah. couldnt be that many geeks (I will even lump myself into this) wanted to see certain versions come to life for the first timeno on pive action form and this iteration just wasnt it. I love Grant Gustin and love what theyve done on the show but even his version. I would love to see the earlier incarnation of Barry Allen where hes not so young and much like the John Wesley Ship version more serious. Just because people wish for a particular version from their co. ic lore doesnt mean the motivations have anything to do with anti diversity. Geeks are geeks. They just want comic accuracy but the problem is that most source is so rich and long that comic accuracy can mean many different things to different people. I swear, the more rooted we get in PC culture the harder it is for people to just give an honest POV or opinion lest they get condemned for being innappropriate, even in the most innocent of stances.

A beloved black character played by a white is whitewashing and often creates offence, the reverse should be judged the same. Olsen in Supergirl suffered similar backlash.
However, I agree the actress have fit the role just fine. The only thing that made me dislike the character a bit the first few seasons was the constant push to go Canon with her and Barry despite Barrys character having So much more chemistry with many girls except her. Which in turn made her feel a bit flat and phony to me until her role deepened a bit beyond being Barrys crush.
The chemistry have appeared eventually but Olicity still Held a stronger spark.

I am not gonna lie I hate the show Riverdale I felt uncomfortable and disgusted the moment the show was revealed cause as a kid born in the early 2000s I thought It was gonna be a good old live action of Archies weird mysterious or The comic books but instead we got a raunchy, Disturbing, and highly inappropriate content and the fact it took the characters names(who are my age) putting them into situations that are completely ridiculous Gives the show the prize of ruining my childhood. I don't understand why people like it if they do I guess they do but it ain't a show for me

Edit: Ms. Grundy is even more creepy when in the Riverdale handbook (a thing for backstory and such for fans of the show, sort of like an introductory book and being as if Archie and the gang had written in it) it showed Archie's gradecard for music, with a note from Ms. Grundy, saying he was Very good with his hands. Ew.

TV shows make it a hobby to cast adults as kids. because the actors the producers are working with behind behind the scenes are adults that what they see them as so they find it okay to expose their behavior to the audience. Taylor momsen was an actual teenager when she received the role of jenny Humphrey in gossip girl and was cast as the younger sister of dance Humphrey who was a total bad ass and never listened to any one so she was gonna be a brat, it was her role

That Reign scene was a bit much could've used a graphic warning before showing so much of it. Especially for the CW, they don't show that much on Law and Order SVU. I've seen worse sure, but it makes a difference how you frame these types of scenes and for how long. I'm so over characters being cast as a totally different race just to make the saps that get offended over everything happy. They've ruined the Little Mermaid through making Ariel black. If they're gonna do that, then they should make Pocahontas white, it's only fair since they ruined Ariel, she is very pale with red hair, they might as well just re write all these things and make it a totally different show/film.

gossip girl definitely had its naughty moments but a threesome is where we're drawing the line? seriously? pretty sure kids have done lines of coke on that show but sure, consensual threesomes with 2 chicks kissing is too far.

about parents worried about a threesome in gossip girl, I think its more concerning that one of the lead guys/the 'crush' of many teenagers attempted to rape two of the main girls in the first episode & never had any real consequences, thats more of an issue than 3 young consenting adult having a threesome

I like GG but Talyor did right left the show. She and her band rock. She has so great songs and a beautiful voice.
She wants more time for her band and this is ok. But for her figur they should let her go after season 3! In Season 4 they ruin her role complete.

I'm just glad that in Riverdale, the parents and Archie's friends treated Archie/Grundy like it was wrong, unlike Pretty Little Liars, where Aria and Ezra end up married and Aria's friends and family (eventually) accept him. Blegh.
